Rating: DANDELIONS AND PUPPIES until Kanda opens his mouth.
Summary: Just a bunch of boys cutting each other's hair, with or without permission. What can go wrong, seriously. Also, action spam format. Aaaaall the action spam.


[Truth is, Allen doesn't really care if his hair gets cut or not.

Truth is, Nesreca has this hideous way of encouraging him not to care very much about most things pertaining to himself.

What he does care about, however, is making good on his verbal promise to Lavi, especially after circumstances have caused him to fall short of keeping the previous one. So when late morning finally rolls around, he splashes some water on his face in an attempt to wash away the fatigue, tries on a smile in a grimy window pane (stretch it, hold it, steady now), and makes his way to room 905 with the pair of surgical scissors they'd found all those weeks ago.]

Lavi? [ Knock knock. ] Are you up?

The old man? [Sheepish look is sheepish.] You both probably weigh about the same.

[It's accompanied by a slight wince of sympathy. Is that why Bookman's hair is so scarce. Did it fall out from sheer fright. (If only you knew, Allen.)]

[ glancing down at himself ] I'm sure I haven't lost that much weight. [ with some morbid curiosity: ] How did those practice rides go?

Lavi whips out his hammer and sticks it out, commanding it to grow and extend silently as he grabs a hold of Allen - sorry - around the waist and out they go! It's already at the ground when he does this so another silent "shrink" and Down Periscope!]

[―don't get a say in this particular instance of FML, apparently. Releases a stuttering 'urp' of surprise as he's dragged along, startled into a brief but fatal moment of hesitation by both the sudden development and getting grabbed by the waist, and then―]

[Even free falls have nothing on this, at least those he can control! So er, his first, unconscious, stupid reaction is to flail a little. Here's hoping you have a good hold on him, buddy.]

[BUT if you don't, that's cool too. Allen's reached around and grabbed two big fistfuls of your shirt, eyes wide and kind of wild with this silent WHYYYYYY while Tim grabs on to the ends of his messy white hair and hangs on for dear life.]

But there's no need to hold on that tightly since the descent down to the ground is rather slow and unhurried, the only frightening thing is the height perhaps. Or the sudden exposure to the elements when one had been looking forward to walking down eight other flights of stairs?

Minutes later they reach the ground floor and Lavi's smiling like there's nothing at all wrong in the world. Despite everything that is.]

[Don't worry, their pointy tips are angled away from Lavi, though more by chance than design. After the initial heart-stopping, stomach-heaving lurch of finding thin air under his feet, it quickly hits Allen that they aren't travelling at the breakneck speed he's expecting, that Lavi is exercising some rather precise control.

Oh. Well.

This just went from potentially fatal to kind of ridiculous. Slowly, he relaxes his grip on Lavi's shirt, in this subtle I didn't just do that kind of way, but not completely in case Lavi loses his hold somehow.

Speaking of, he feels all sorts of ridiculous just... dangling... from Lavi's arm like this, so he reaches around (again, awkwardly) to close a hand around Tettsui's handle. They make it to ground without further mishaps.]

[Twitch goes a white eyebrow at that blithe comment.]

[with all of his English pleasantness:] What's coming next may be, though!

It's just it was quicker than the stairs, Allen! I won't do it again, [Without more warning] honest!

[Holding his hands up in surrender mode.]

[Hands up, you say? That's all the more reason for his smile to carve its way that fraction wider for the briefest glimpse of teeth ― and reach to jab Lavi in his unguarded ribs.]

Suppose I can find it in my heart to spare your hair today, then.

[carrying on a lot more sincerely:] Oh, but I meant it when I said it wasn't too bad -- you did get much better at it.

[Grunts and wraps his arms around his ribs to protect them.] And I humbly thank you for this pardon.

[Grin brightens a little.] Told you.

You shouldn't.

[So very simply, because sometimes simple is best ― let them wonder. Still, it's all just a part of their mutual ribbing. Allen won't actually strive to make a mess of Lavi's hair.]

Have you tried travelling longer distances with it?

[Who knows, it may come in handy now that Lavi's driving skills appear to be several notches above 'lethal'. He's walking over to a low, broken stone wall as he speaks. One of them can sit on it while the other trims.]

[Yeah, but he'd rather take it now instead of later when Allen might be less forgiving of the matter.

F-following. Going to make the giant sit are you? Hope it's got a low section in that broken mess.] I use it to travel back here every night after my explorations in the north now.

[There probably is. If not, the ground is always an option!]

[still teasing:] That's odd, would've thought I'd hear you coming.

[All of that screaming and everything. Jokes aside, it's good to know Lavi has some mode of transportation back to the apartments. Allen doesn't much like the thought of anyone out in the ruins of Nesreca at night.]

I'll start keeping an eye out for you.

[He hands the scissors over as he speaks, handle-first. Lavi's the one who knows what he's doing, might as well have him start.]

I don't scream myself, Allen. Not unless I'm actually falling. [Slight tongue being stuck out at you as he takes the scissors.]

Lights out at night would be nice when winter comes if I'm still looking around by then. [Waits for Allen to sit before he wraps the blanket around his shoulders.]

[Allen's expression dims slightly along with the mention of winter. He has already been through one, determined he wouldn't be here long enough to see the seasons change, but look at them now.]

[Thankfully, the shift is subtle and doesn't last long. He's quirking an eyebrow at Lavi soon enough, tone light.]

Oh, this I have to see.

[And you can bet he'll be looking, not to prove or disprove Lavi's claim like it sounds, but simply to show him a welcoming face. Don't get too distracted if you're zipping home one day and happen to see Allen waving at you from his window.]

There's a lot of ground to cover, but not that much to note. I don't think it'll take that long.

[With that, he sits, tilting his head back to look up at Lavi when the blanket's in place.]

[ grinning a little uneasily ] I was until you asked. But alright, go for it.

[No. The ground hurts. You have to hit it too.

But they don't get a choice, it's been said there's no way out of this place and Sasuke had been here for the longest out of them before he was...eaten. How is Hoshi going to bring him back that way, man. Might as well take the passing seasons as a bitter pill, one we don't want but have to take. Just like so many other things that they come up against.

Offended tone, still kidding but.] Hey! You're saying it like you expect me to fall and hurt myself! [Of course after this he'll have Naoto on the back of his hammer behind him.] I've got another direction to go after north at least, we go far enough east and we'll find the ocean.

[Allen gets an easy grin in return.] I'll cut only a little first, that way if more needs to be cut off I can cut it.
