Rating: DANDELIONS AND PUPPIES until Kanda opens his mouth.
Summary: Just a bunch of boys cutting each other's hair, with or without permission. What can go wrong, seriously. Also, action spam format. Aaaaall the action spam.


[Truth is, Allen doesn't really care if his hair gets cut or not.

Truth is, Nesreca has this hideous way of encouraging him not to care very much about most things pertaining to himself.

What he does care about, however, is making good on his verbal promise to Lavi, especially after circumstances have caused him to fall short of keeping the previous one. So when late morning finally rolls around, he splashes some water on his face in an attempt to wash away the fatigue, tries on a smile in a grimy window pane (stretch it, hold it, steady now), and makes his way to room 905 with the pair of surgical scissors they'd found all those weeks ago.]

Lavi? [ Knock knock. ] Are you up?

[Alma nods before going back to sitting still, ready to begin.]

[Lavi nods at the gestured design of Alma's hair.] Bit too long to show that shape. Heh, I'll do my best, yeah?

[Lavi ruffles out his hair before the gentle snip-snip starts and tuffs of hair fall.]

[Takes a seat beside Alma to watch as he idly fiddles with Timcanpy's wings, who is perched on his thigh.]

I'm sure it'll be fine, you did a good enough job with mine. [ leaning into Alma's field of vision so the bitty doesn't have to turn his head to see ] Right?

[Alma flashes Allen a smile.]

Right!

Not like your hair hasn't grown in fifteen different ways since I've met you, Allen. [A light and teasing jab at the ever changing artist's drawing of Allen's hair.]

Alma's should be no problem if it's only been that one style.

[Settles back again, answering Lavi with an easy roll of his shoulders.]

[ musingly, like he's never given the subject much thought before: ] Well― It grows. I can't help it if they trim it differently everytime.

How come you don't just get it cut the same way?

That's a very good question, Alma. I'd like to hear that answer too. [Glances at Allen with a grin, working on the bitty's hair.]

[Because it got bitten off once.

And grew past his waist the next thanks to one of the Science Division's overzealous contributions to mankind.

Because, as is probably clear by now, none of his haircuts are ever quite planned.

But mostly because he doesn't much care as long as no one's nagging him for it, and if it's free.]

It helps to have my bangs out of my eyes, but I'm not very particular otherwise.

[Turns to check on Lavi's progress.]

Yeah.

[Checking out Allen's hair out of the corner of his eye.]

... Maybe you could get something to hold your bangs back.

Could just cut'em off all together. [Yet another teasing grin. Though Lavi wouldn't dare do that.]

But I'll look for barrettes when I go into town next if that'll help.

[Barrettes are alright when he's training and only needs to hold his hair back for a few hours, but as an everyday accessory in Nesreca, where Master can see him?]

That's quite alright. We already have scissors, I'll just make sure to give them a trim whenever they need it.

[The mockery would never end.]

[Alma giggles, but stifles himself quickly to avoid any unfortunate accidents with those scissors.

I'd make sure I got some black or silver ones. [Not like Cross probably hasn't used them himself. He used a ponytail way back when!]

Just going to have to make sure we take good care of these. [Almost done with cutting Alma's hair.] Though I know of one more head that might need a trim.

[ laughing and waving his hand in a casual 'no thanks' ] I think Miss Rapunzel may appreciate them more, Lavi. [ a slight headtilt ] That's not who you're referring to, is it?

A fairy tale?

[It turns thoughtful at the question... And lasts longer than it should. Allen is quick, but he also has moments of derp that strike when he least expects it. Right now, he's failing to take Kanda's first name into consideraton, simply because Allen never addresses him that way.]

[ dubiously: ] You mean Akito?

[It doesn't rhyme completely, but it's close enough. Naoto's the only other option and he has short hair.]

[Alma adds his own blank look to Allen's at the mention of fairy tales, but is quickly distracted by Lavi's next hint. No worries, Allen, Alma's got this one in the bag.]
