there's klingons nearby
Characters: Spock, Soubi, Ritsuka, open to Kirk and others
When: Now
Where: Apartment 302
Rating: PG
Summary: Spock is meeting up with Soubi and Ritsuka to give them some shelter and finally get that jacket to Kirk. Who is going to be dragged back to the apartment because Spock does not like that his captain has been MIA for so long.
Spock waited calmly outside the door of the apartment he had found. Since arriving here, he had not been comfortable at all. Yes, the apartment he had found was habitable and secure (the cleaning took longer than any of the repairs), and he had made contact with others through the network that was miraculously still up, but all the same: getting to his captain and making sure that he was alright was a priority. It should have been his first priority.
But things had been so confusing that he was not sure of what to do anymore. He really did need to take some time and meditate once things settled down.

Soubi chewed on the end of a cigarette - he was getting low, sadly - and sent a text to Spock.
We're outside, across the street. Too many zombies near the door for my liking. We'll wait here.

I shall be there shortly.
Quickly shutting the door and sealing the locking mechanism he constructed and slipping the opening device in a pocket, he exited the building, taking a few winding paths and turns to get to a relatively "zombie free" exit.
He carefully approached Ritsuka and Soubei, crossing the street.
"Ritsuka and Soubei, I presume?"

He leaned against the wall and watched the zombies while waiting for Spock to come out. When he spotted the man, Soubi straightened and his ears perked with interest.
The blond nodded. "Hai. Soubi," he touched his chest, then moved his arm to wrap gently over the shorter boy's shoulders, "Ritsuka. How big is this person you want the coat for? If they are close to your size, Ritsuka's won't fit."
no subject
He smiled at the adult's approach, tail twitching and ears cocking in a shy manner, giving a small wave. "You can look," he said, holding it out with an apologetic shrug.

Spock looked at the coat, and frowned slightly.
"He is about my size; I am afraid that Soubei is correct."
no subject
The blonde's eyes flicked to Spock's ears and held steady there while he debated the pros and cons of attempting to touch the pointy things.

He then fished out the simple "key" to his apartment. "Here. While I go to locate my captain, feel free to use my apartment as you see fit. Simply insert this in the hole on the door by the doorknob and it will unlock. It locks from the inside as well, so you should be safe."

"We have the map Matt sent us too. I'm not good with maps though."
no subject
Noticing how Ritsuka seemed to become a little agitated, he wondered what was wrong.
"May I ask who Matt is?"
no subject
"Do you have a landmark to go on? One I may have seen and marked on my maps and send you in the right direction?"
no subject
"Matt's really nice..." he put in, but there wasn't much he could add to the discussion on maps. His ears rose suddenly, "Oh! I have pictures," he offered, "From the different places we've been."
no subject
He observed the map, wondering where his captain might be. He mentioned falling buildings and the like, but those seemed to be common.
"He has not specified anything along those lines."
He was going to have to talk to Jim when they found him. 'Random checks would be nice,' indeed.
no subject
"That will make it more difficult. It looks like the zombies have thinned out a bit. Ritsuka and I will wait in your room. If you have trouble finding your way back, send a text and I'll do my best to help."

"It seems that my Captain has had a minor run in with one of the beings," he said, putting his communicator away. "He is near a row of stores, probably damaged. Have you seen anything like it before?"
no subject
"My best guess would be the strip mall to the south and west of here. You can get there easily enough by following the largest road roughly 15 blocks west until you get to this point," He put his finger down on the very edge of the map on the current page and began tracing it down, "then turn south here to avoid the collapsed building before turning west again until you get to this corner. At that point you're going to have to do some climbing to get over the rubble to this side of the area. Otherwise it will take you probably an hour, maybe two to walk around the destruction to the north or south."
Soubi smiled, "Can you remember that well enough or do you want me to make a quick sketch for you to take."
Still, he appeared to not be paying attention to Ritsuka's reactions.

He hooked his coat to hang over his carrier bag, riffling through and pulling out his camera, which he flipped through silently for a moment before holding it out to Spock, the screen showing the strip mall Soubi had suggested. He kept his head bowed slightly, but was determined not to pout or sulk. He would help how he could.
no subject
Hopefully the captain would stay out of trouble until he got there.
"Thank you. Your assistance is most appreciated," he said.
Noticing Ritsuka acting much like Kirk when he felt like he was being ignored or pushed aside, he wondered if he should somehow signal this to Soubei. It would only get worse as it went on, but at least he was sure that Ritsuka would not do something that could possibly cause an interplanetary war.
no subject
It was at this point that Soubi finally turned his attention back to Ritsuka, offering his hand, "We should get inside now."
no subject
He eyed Soubi's hand with a slight frown, lips pursed, but he eventually took it with a nod, "Mm, yeah. 'Kay."

About twenty minutes or so later, he came to the pile of rubble that had been mentioned.

Spock had told him to sit tight and wait for him to get there, acting like his captain couldn't handle himself in weird situations. He had outrun a bizarre red alien monster that tried to eat him! In snow and ice! Like trying to manage a few freaky dead things in a more familiar setting would be any harder. Wait...
That one didn't look like the others.
Jim crouched down behind some fallen bits and held his phaser close, having it set on stun, lest he shoot someone important that were to sneak up on him. "What the fuck is that thing and why did I leave my tricorder in the apartment? Of all the times to need it. Damn it!"
no subject
He was probably hiding and wouldn't be seen otherwise.
