Characters: Yuuta [livejournal.com profile] meitori, Naruto [livejournal.com profile] ramen4free
When: December 1
Where: At the side of the river
Rating: PG?
Summary: Yuuta and Naruto plan to go across the river for some salt and other ghost fighting things.

Yuuta waited quietly at the side of the river, hoping that Naruto would be able to get back soon. He was a little nervous about going across the river, given the things people had been telling him across the network. If any of that was true, then maybe it wasn't such a good idea to go there, even for salt to fight against spooks and all that.

Well, maybe they wouldn't notice. He was good at sneaking around, and Naruto had said that he had been there a few times already.

Naruto appeared a few minutes later, sprinting towards the river until he reached Yuuta and stopped, folded over to catch his breath. He'd gotten distracted by some things and thus arrived later then he'd planned. "Sorry for the wait. Are you ready to go now?"

He glanced over at the river while he waited for an answer and determined it would probably be safe to cross, for now.

"Yeah. It's the quickest way to get across though it's also a pain. I hope you don't mind walking around in wet clothes for awhile. Though we're lucky. the water seems pretty calm today." He bent down and began pulling off his sandals, before standing up and stepping into the water.

"Well, now or never." He wadded deeper into the water, becoming increasingly more wet as he went. He stopped when the water reached his waist and sank down, ready to start swimming.

Naruto swam after him in a slightly slower pace. He had no real reason to rush, but he didn't lag behind either. The swim only took a couple of minutes but it was almost nice. He didn't get the chance to swim often, but he also wasn't looking forward to walking around in wet clothes.

Once he reached the other side of the river, he trudged out and began to wring the water from his shirt. "The town is just straight ahead a little ways. It won't take long to get there."

"If anyone asks, maybe we can tell them we slipped and fell into the water." He knew the story had a lot of holes, and if anyone did ask that meant they'd been found out, but why not look on the bright side anyways?

He started heading off in the direction so the town, and true to his word, they arrived a few minutes later. He stopped along the edge of the town and looked over at Yuuta. "So, where would be a good place to look?"

"Right. Okay." He walked forward, trying to seem normal so he can go unnoticed by the people of the town. But that didn't really work since he could see some of the people staring at him and some pointing. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure Yuuta was following.

"I think it's that building up there." He points to a simple building standing a little ways ahead of them.

He reached the building and stopped to pull open the door and motion Yuuta in. It was a bit on the small size, but big enough to have a decent amount of aisles full of stuff. He strolled up and down a few aisles before spotting the salt.

He grabbed a bag of it and took off towards Yuuta. "Hey, I found some. This is what you need right?" Behind him the shop keeper turned towards them and gave him an annoyed look.

Naruto leaned on the counter next to Yuuta, watching the proceedings in case they need to make a break for it. He didn't like how the shop keeper was looking at them; as if they were people from the moon and if they made so much as a sudden movement he'd attack them.

The shop keeper crossed his arms and stared hard at Yuuta before slowly nodding. "Depends. What do you have to trade?"
