4TH WALL: YUUTA & IRELAND

Who: OC!Yuuta [meitori] & OC!Ireland (4th wall player) [lostapiece]

Where: Apartment 201, Yuuta's room
Rating: PG13
Summary: Yuuta has invited Ireland to his apartment, and given the current weather, Ireland has agreed to come over for the night.

Yuuta started cleaning up his apartment the moment Ireland logged off of his device, a few moments after he agreed to come over and spend the night so he wouldn't be exposed to the elements. Kami or no, he was still vulnerable to whatever might be out there, probably. He still didn't like the idea that an entire country might be in danger while he was stuck int his place.

Humans were one things... but a spirit of his importance...

Well, no matter. A roof over his head and as few drafts as possible would be better than anything, and he might as well make this place as clean as he could. Or cleaner than what it already was.

Yuuta nodded, though if he wanted too, he could tell Ireland how he had seen more bad than good in life... though the statement probably would stand because surely, someone had seen more good than bad in their lives.

"Yes, I have. Have other people disappeared like this?"

He shook his head. "I haven't seen people disappear like this. Kidnappins happen but...I usually know where they're goin. Even if I don't like it." he replied.

He frowned. Okay, it had to do with unique perimeters, or maybe because he was in Japan at the time, he didn't know. "Someone had to have noticed something. People just don't disappear and not go missed." Of course, since he was technically in hiding... maybe he had.

He gave a sigh. "Well, there's no helping it for now. We just have to figure out how to survive here and get out."

He nodded along. "I just hope it isn't long. I need t'get home or my people'd starve." Ireland looked about. "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything."

"Hmm," Yuuta said sullenly. "I am sure you'll get out long before that happens." What kind of being or power would take the spirit of a country was either stupid or just didn't care. When he got his hands on whoever was responsible for this...! "No, you weren't interrupting anything. Like I said, a dream woke me up and as you can see, I'm still awake."

"I'd say amblin' about will get you to sleep easy but...I wouldn't suggest doing that here." Ireland stretched, still slick from his walk in the rain. He drew his knees up and rested his arms on them, looking at Yuuta. "Whenever y'get home. Come visit. It'll be grand."

"Hmm, I do like walks, but there is no reason I am leaving this place unless I need to. Nearly got eaten by zombies the last time that I did that. But I will visit. It will be grand. You sure you don't need to dry off more?" Yuuta added, still doing his best not to ogle Ireland. The likeness between him and the person in his dreams was just absolutely uncanny.

His eyebrows raised at the smaller man. "Somethin' y'wish to tell me?" he asked.

"Hmm?" he asked, blinking. "No. Why do you ask? Sorry, it's just a human thing to know that being sopping wet and cold isn't good for anyone."

He tilted his head. "Is that why you keep starin' at me?" he asked.

He shrugged. "On top of a bookworm and computer geek, my brothers often call me a worrywart. At least I am not a scheming meddler like our grandmother. The plots she makes... maybe she does it because she knows that we'd never try to get revenge on her."

He laughed a bit. "Aye, I've known how brothers are. Sisters are the same. They love fussin' with each other. I promise you. I won't get sick." He shook his head, sending water droplets everywhere.

"They do, but they always insist that I'm the one to be spoiled, seeing as I'm the youngest, like that is a valid reason." He covered his face and wiped off what few droplets fell onto him. "I hope you're right. This place is just... off. So I like to err on the side of caution."

"You've my word." Ireland gave him a small smile. "I find it interesting that you were dreamin' about me. Or rather, someone who looks a lot like me."

"Yes, it is weird," Yuuta agreed. "But oddities are something kind of normal for me. That happens when you attract things like oni-bi and find kappa amusing."

Oh, he hoped he would be able to get back home soon. He missed his family and his otherworldly friends.

He reached out and put a hand on his shoulder. "It's all right, Yuuta. You'll return home soon. if anythin', you must keep faith in things."

"Domo arigato," he said, smiling fondly. A warm feeling blossomed in his chest, the same one he would feel during and after every dream he had about him. Or the person who looked like him. "Than you. But I think it's more important that you get back home."

He shrugged. "I'll find m'way home. Always do. Not that difficult to when Earth is literally your home."

Yuuta laughed. "Yes, I suppose that is true. How are things going over there, anyways? My grandfather has been teaching me mostly about Chinese, American, and Korean relations with Japan."

"Thigns are as they are everywhere else. Mortals've gotten themselves in such a mess that they would've been just fine had they still listened to us." Ireland shook his head and ran a hand through his dark hair.

Frowning, Yuuta wracked his brain. Things were alright in Japan, as respecting nature and preserving balance was part of their culture, something most of them just automatically followed, but in other cultures and countries, he could see why this would be different.

"What would help?" he asked. "My grandfather has done a lot of work in environmental preservation as a diet member, but that's just in Japan. What would help other countries?"

"Yeah, yeah, recyclin's been sort of America's new banner. He waves one every decade. Something is suddenly the biggest issue. He means well but sometimes..." Ireland shook his head. "He means well. And don't worry about me. I'm slowly on the mend."

"Yes, they have been trying," he replied. He couldn't help but worry a little. He would often say the same thing when he really wasn't. "Would... a recycling plant help any? An actual place people could get used to using, and not one of those obscure places on the fringes of town?"

He hummed as he thought on it. "A few recyclin' plants have gone up in the past couple of years. Most of it is done through non-for-profit organisations." Ireland smiled a bit. It was sweet how the mortal was concerned even though he wasn't a citizen.

"Hmm. Non-profit organizations are good and all, but what they really need is support not only from the government, but companies as well. It could be a trickle-down effect: from the top to the bottom, until it's second nature for people to recycle." Another thought came to him. "But there are lots of things that can't be recycled..."
