Summary: Naruto has enlisted Sasuke's help in finding his lost letter.

At age sixteen Naruto is the master at getting himself into sticky situations, and more often then not, huge trouble. Such is life for a teenaged prankster who has never learned when to keep his mouth shut and when to not write harshly worded, and cruelly written letters about teachers who could not only end his life but probably had experience hiding the bodies. He cringed at the thought and went back to swinging his leg against the wall of the school building. He idly wondered if Sasuke had changed his mind and decided not to come after all. He mentally prepared how he was going to tear his so called friend a new hole if he didn't show up. But he knew he would, in the end, show up. What were friends for right? Even if they are Uchiha Sasuke.

Sasuke kept his word, even if it would have been a slightly funny thought to leave Naruto hanging. But, well, an idiot's an idiot and he's put up with him his whole life, so it just wouldn't feel right if he didn't help him.

With hands stuffed in his hoodie's pockets, he stopped next to the building and glanced up at Naruto, "Hey, dumbass."

His response is automatic and without thought. "Teme! I told you to stop calling me that!" He folds his arms across his chest and glares at his 'friend'.

After a moment he turns his gaze towards the building. "Where should we start?" It's not like the school was a big building, but there were a number of rooms Naruto could have dropped the letter. Basically anywhere from the bathroom to the principal's office. And that doesn't even cover the classrooms.

"We start with retracing your steps, obviously. Do you remember where you even last saw the letter?" Sasuke nodded toward the building before making his way toward the front door.

It was something that shouldn't be too hard, but considering that this was Naruto they were talking about... Well...

"Uh...yeah! Of course I do!" He grins and then deflates a bit. "...I think." He scratches his head, a pose that told others he's in deep thought.

"I think I saw it last in...math! I had to dig through my bag to find some pencils...and paper. I remember seeing it while I was looking.

... Sigh. Sasuke pulled out a hand and rubbed the bridge of his nose. He should have known getting such a simple answer from Naruto would have been a task.

"Then we'll stop by the room and see if anyone tossed it out."

"Alright!" He sets off in the direction of his classroom, walking through the halls with the ease of familiarity. The walk is a couple of minutes but soon enough Naruto stops in front of one of the classrooms.

"Hey, do you think they lock the classrooms?"

"That shouldn't stop someone like you, I believe. You did used to prank all of our teachers."

"Yeah, but that took preparation. I would leave the window unlocked and get into the classroom that way. I didn't know that I would be needing to break into my math class tonight!"

He put his hand on the knob and gave it a quick turn. Just as he thought...it's locked.

Sasuke simply gave a snort. "How much damage are you willing to risk to get that letter back?"

He didn't really need to think about it. He turns to Sasuke with a serious expression on his face. "What do you have in mind?"

Sasuke, in return, simply smirked. "Break down the door. With me?"

He nods slowly before throwing Sasuke a worried look. "What if we get caught? I mean, once we break it down, it's down. That's not an easy fix and I don't think my record can take another hit."

"Have a credit card on you, then?" Really, he had no problems with doing it either way, as long as they managed to get inside. They had just as much risk of getting caught standing out in the hall as they did leaving behind a broken door.

"Uh...no. What are we supposed to do with that? Buy a new door?" He frowns at Sasuke as if he'd just asked the stupidest question ever. He wasn't an expert on doors, locked or otherwise, which is why he usually stuck to windows.

Sasuke took in a deep breath and just let it out. Idiot, Naruto. "Just forget it. We'll kick the damn thing down."

Naruto glances nervously at the door and then back at Sasuke before nodding quickly. "Yeah, okay, let's do this." He crosses to the opposite wall to build some momentum, and then strikes the door with his foot. It budges slightly but otherwise, nothing.

"Together, this time." Sasuke positioned himself, waiting for Naruto to readjust. "On three."

"Right." Naruto gets into position once more and counts down along with Sasuke. "One..."

"Two."

"Three." He rushes forward, expecting Sasuke to follow suit and kicks the door as hard as he can.

He does, and as soon as their feet come in contact with the door, it buckled under their weight and slammed opened, crashing loudly against the wall. Sasuke couldn't help but give a slight wince at the sound.

"Yes!" Naruto jumps up in excitement and punches the air. "That was so cool. I knew we could do." He enters the room and glances around before crossing the room to his desk. He feels around inside the desk for a moment before sighing loudly and shaking his head. "Not here."

Sasuke walked over to the trash can and peered into it. Empty. Looks like they had already been cleaned for the night.

"If it went in the trash, chances are it went into the dumpster out back."

He nodded slowly and, finding no problems with this theory, agrees. "Alright, to the dumpster then!" He leaves the room, waiting for Sasuke to follow as well, before shutting the door and heading off towards the exit. Once they reached the dumpster he frowned at the heap of garbage and wrinkled his nose.

"Feel free to take this one, since I searched last time."

Sasuke just gave Naruto a look. "Hell no. It's not my angry letter."

He shot Sasuke a dirty look before glancing back at the dumpster. "No, but it was your idea."

"No way in hell, Naruto." And that was definitely the pride talking.

"What? Are you too good to help out a friend or something?" He completely ignored the fact that he's not one to talk. He didn't want to go digging through garbage anymore then Sasuke did.

Sasuke let out an exasperated breath before he walked over toward the dumpster, opening up the lid and pulling out one of the trash bags to tear apart.

"Help me, at least."

He considers for a moment before nodding and grabbing for a garbage bag of his own. He tears it open and immediately throws it down and pinches his nose. Out of the bag comes old, moldy food scraps and used socks. "Oh my god that is nasty!"

Sasuke simply rolled his eyes and tore open another bag, cringing at both the smell and contents. Ugh, definitely nasty.

"Of course it is, usuratonkachi, it's trash."

"Yeah, but I can't even tell what some of this stuff is!" He searches through the trash bag, trying not to touch anything more then necessary. Afer a moment he stops and a light bulb goes off in his head. "Hey, wait, if the note s already in the trash why are we looking for it? I don't expect my teacher to go searching through trash bags to find it."

"You're the one wanting it back, right?"

"Well, yeah, because I want to make sure it doesn't fall into my teacher's hands. But if I find it and go home to throw it away, doesn't retrieving it from the garbage seem kinda...redundant?"

"What did you intend to do with it when you wrote it, Naruto?"

"I don't know." He shrugs and lightly kicks one of the trash bags out of his way. "I just wrote it to blow off some steam."

Sasuke let out an exasperated sigh before tossing the trash back down. Yeah, this was definitely ridiculous. "Then start hoping it ended up here and not elsewhere."
