i see a red door and i want to paint it black
Characters: Rhode Kamelot [
stealsumbrellas] and Kanda Yuu [
promisedlotus]
When: Backdated to June 20th.
Where: The foggy abandon of Nesreca.
Rating: PG-13 - R. There will be blood.
Summary: Rhode has played nice for a very long time. Kanda has taken advantage of her truce with Allen Walker. So she has finally decided that enough is enough -- and it's time for a lesson.
The moment the feed cut off, Rhode Kamelot opened her Doors -- and the moment she stepped into them, her skin was ash grey, her crown of thorns present, and her frilly pink umbrella clenched tightly in her right hand. Inside her world, it felt safe -- protected -- free from the staring eyes of every single damn Exorcist in Nesreca who wanted her dead.
No, it was time to end the staring and the constant leering.
The Doors opened silently -- and out of them, propelled four black and purple wax candles, each aiming for a different limb of Kanda Yuu's from behind.
"Watch your back~♥, he said," Rhode jeered as she stepped down onto the wet grass, opening her umbrella to shield her from the rain, her smile wide and unstable. "It's so funny ♥ I wish Lero were here, he would laugh ♥"

Only then did he turn around. The candles caught him, mostly, cause him to stumble back from the force and drop Mugen. He didn't waste any time before moving to pull the candles out of him, and the pain was obvious in his voice when he spoke.
"Very funny." Kanda gave a soft hiss, wincing. He couldn't see where Rhode was, and, hell, he couldn't even see where he had dropped Mugen. Not really.
...This was going to be fun.

"You should be grateful~♪"
Rhode stepped forward, throwing another candle at Kanda, aimed for his right arm, her golden eyes glinting furiously in the rain.
"I was playing nice♪ this entire time -- because Allen asked me to. And he's going to be so~♪ mad~♪ that his friend was stupid enough to throw away his life for nothing~♥"
Her shoes squelched in the mud as she stepped forward, tipping her umbrella backwards slightly to get a better look at Kanda, her snarl marring her features into something ugly.
"He's the only one who doesn't watch me, you know. He doesn't check on me. He doesn't chase after me and open doors to make sure I'm not there -- and he doesn't tell me to watch my back."
And Rhode raised her hand, her snarl transforming into a wicked smile, holding the pointed edge of the candle directly to Kanda's throat, her tone suddenly light and free.
"And Allen is the only human in this city that's safe. ♥"

He had to stop, though, at the candle at his throat. A gloved hand reached up to cover his bleeding arm, but otherwise stood there. His eyes scanned through the fog carefully, trying to see past the veil that Rhode was using for her cover.
He still didn't say anything.

"What are you going to do, Kanda~? ♥" Rhode jeered, a shadow in the fog as she slipped further away, but the candle remained hovering at his throat. "Kill me?"
no subject
Still, despite his situation, he had to give a smirk at the comment. "You tempt me, Rhode."

Rhode was gone -- melted away into the fog -- and for the barest moment, it looked as if she had left. There was silence -- no footsteps, no giggling, no laughing to herself --
And then another candle shot towards Kanda's left leg, from the right, along with a snarl:
"None of you can."

"That's Lavi." Oh, how he wanted Mugen right now.

And, suddenly, Rhode appeared before him, with a passive smile on her face. A hand shot out to grab Kanda by the hair, yanking him down to her level, a hand pressed to his chest.
She almost looked sympathetic to his plight.
"He wished me a happy birthday."
And she shoved it through his chest.

And instantly regretted it.
Azure eyes widened as the hand went through, immediately followed by Kanda coughing up blood. Rhode, you had better move or he will get the blood right on your dress before moving to pull himself away.

But something made her fingers twitch and she yanked the candle back out with a growl of frustration.
"I want you to die," Rhode snarled, kicking him soundly in the knees, to attempt to bring him to the ground. "You deserve to die. It pisses me off that you're all allowed to live like you own this world when you don't."
Rhode sent another candle forward, and another, to Kanda's shoulders.
"You sicken me."
no subject
He was stubborn; he wasn't going to give up so easily even though he was without Mugen.
"I...won't die."
