She's basically lost

Characters: Doc Holiday and everyone
When: January 18th-19th
Where: Her own room, 404, or around the apartments
Rating: G/PG
Summary: The Doc is about as settled in as she's going to get, so come bug her or let her come bug you.

This city was crazy. What they were telling her was crazy. She desperately wanted to find out what had happened back home, but she had mostly resigned herself to the fact that she was dead and this was some strange hell she was in. Likely for Beverly.

Or maybe they were all right and she was here just like them until the spirits decided to send her back. But what would she go back to? Would she still just die and lose everything anyway? Holiday sighed.

She can think about that at night when she tried to sleep. For now, she had to focus on getting by from day to day then get to bigger things.

Like Credinta.

There are a few here who're about as stoic then--Raven can be, but then that's part of her story and she has to be, or bad things happen. She could likely calm Holiday down whether she wanted to be calmed or not, but Raven tries to not be that intrusive without damn good reason or need. Ah, the ethics of powers like Empathy...

"Some of it is superstition, and some of it is because when they did bring an army over here, to try and get rid of us, we decided our best strategy was to scare them. Badly. Yes, we're really in no better place than they are, so to speak--but it's hard enough without fighting them too. We succeeded rather well, and truth to tell--there are those of us here who ARE scary. Who you should be rightly cautious and afraid of."

Although perhaps not for the reasons Holiday will think--still.

"It has...the problem on our end is that our functional Leader, who formed said truce after we were attacked and successfully repelled it, with a few prisoners being returned no less to them, is now gone. Elizabeth has vanished, as will happen periodically."

Maybe, but Raven still felt the need to warn her. Besides, the scary things here are able to back it up by being really really dangerous, mostly.

"As far as Credinta knows, I think they still presume Elizabeth is here, and in charge. The one man who'd know for sure what they'd think would be General Cross--they seem to recognize him as a member of the clergy, so he can somewhat sneak across the river and find out information--but it's a dangerous game. If they find out he's from over here, or even has contact over here--then it'd be bad for him. Probably for all of us too."

Nope, not good news. Elizabeth vanished right before they all got snowed in with a huge blizzard. The good news is, it likely means that Credinta hasn't figured out anything has changed anyways.

Have another very faint smile again. "I'd talk to General Cross then, or Lavi. Believe me, we're all in this and all we really can depend on is each other." There's an eyebrow raise, as Raven studies her for a moment. "Do you know Russian? Otherwise, learning that is a good first step, while you get yourself acclimated."

"I'd learn to be fluent--I can help you, or Lavi although he tends to be busy, or Okumura-san. It'll help you with at least trying to blend in, if you do try to go into Credinta--and you would much rather blend in, trust me." Have again, a somewhat awkward--but genuine--attempt at a smile.

"I'm sorry none of what I've said so far is all that positive...but it's probably better to get it all out. I CAN tell you we all do try to take care of each other, so if you need something, then ask. Most of us are more than aware we're in this together, and all we can reliably depend on, is each other." Ok, that sounded really really cheesy...

"If you've read the report, I think I'm mentioned in there--I'm one of the healers. I'm also skilled magically, if you believe in it--and if you don't, well, I can still do my thing. In my world, there's no conflict with magic and technology. I have basic first aid knowledge and can assist that way, or I can do healing via my own abilities."

"That's good to hear. Have you gotten in touch with Okumura-san yet? He's...similar." Mostly by being a doctor and amazing with firearms. "I think you'll be able to be a help around here, assuming you want to be. It's not...difficult, really."

Have a faint head-tilt, and then Raven switching to Russian. --When did you want to start practicing, or do you want a couple of books, and a time to adjust to being here, first?--

That brought a very small laugh, not unkind. It wasn't quite what Raven had meant, but at least it was a start. She paused, then switched back to English. "How about I get you those books for a refresher, and we can schedule language practice another time?"

"Alright. I'll see about dropping some off when I can. Did...you have any other questions?" Raven was trying to be social and friendly--she definitely liked the other doctor's willingness to be frank and straightforward. It helped that she sensed no malice or any sense of wariness and a need for concealment. At least, not the kinds that meant Raven was worried---really, she could understand it would take the doc time to get used to things.

Well, that sounded to Raven almost like a polite end to the conversation and request for space. She could understand that want. It was vaguely amusing to her--that since she had lots of space in Nesreca, and time to herself, she sometimes wanted company. "I should let you get back to trying to digest this all then."

Was that a joke? With her deadpan tone it was difficult to tell. "I'm next door in 402 though, if you need anything. I keep odd hours, as well, so feel free to knock, or send a text."

So offering, she started to make her way to the door.
