Characters: Lavi, Elizabeth Tudor, and maybe Lenalee Li
When: Soon after the battle with Credinta
Where: Apartments, first floor, random-unclaimed room
Rating: PG?
Summary: Lavi gets a talking to by a(/two) powerful woman(/women).
[Lavi had managed to keep his mouth shut the entire journey to the apartment building even though he was in intense pain despite the help from Raven and Kiriko. He had learned his lesson, most definitely, don't ever go up against a tank.
Part of him was glad that they hadn't used airplanes to bomb the ruined city. He had no idea how to combat them now if his hammer didn't work.
So he's sulking in his new and uncomfortable bed, longing for his own room on the top floor but injured as he was it was sort of impractical to cart him up there. The door is cracked but for now he's dozing as best he can while in pain, broken bones tend to make sleeping impossible to get.

Lavi when she gets her hands on you, you'll be wishing you were dead
Why did they always end up...like this? With awful injuries.
She has finally found him, and peers into the room before rapping lightly on the doorframe to get his attention. ]

I don't want...anymore medicine...Kiriko...

Lenalee?

Holding up at least one hand in surrender now!]
I-I didn't mean...to get hurt... I swear!

While he is babbling his excuses, she cracks the door open in order to slip and walk over to his bed. All very calmly and at a steady pace.
Poor Lavi. ] How many days before you can move? [ She carefully asks. You just know she is planning something. ]

Don't know... Ribs are still...a bit broken... [:| Not a birthday party...]
no subject
Just a light punch to his face, nothing more~]I wish they had a real hospital here... [ This is certainly no party. ] Anything else that's broken?
no subject
SCREAM.]'m fine... Raven's a healer... Kiriko a medic... [His leg, arm, and ribs are all that's broken.] Not anything...that isn't bandaged...
no subject
Nah; she'll wait until he's better before she does anything like that. She nods, relieved there's at least people who knew what they were doing. ] Do you need anything right now?
no subject
Thank you, dear Lenalee. ♥]Supposed to...sleep. [He's unable to sleep with the pain he's in though. So he just dozes.]
no subject
♥]Ah... [ A pause. ] There aren't any sleeping pills anywhere?

They had to talk, regardless of the rest, needed to fix this. But she would press him. She'd come at least with a peace gift, so perhaps that was something. Even if it was just water for him to drink. Elizabeth knocked on the door that was just a little open before entering at least.]
My lord? [peering in, bracing herself to see the worst.]
no subject
But he would welcome the water, even something sweet to suck on to rid himself of the metallic taste of blood still lingering in his mouth. Really Kanda, what was in that stuff?
He stirs slightly, the worst of his injuries being a broken leg, three ribs, and an arm with multiple breaks. The gunshot wounds are mostly closed thanks to Raven's healing. Lavi's eye flutters open and he frowns slightly, having a slightly hard time focusing. Then he realizes his forehead bandage has come undone.]
I'm not...a lord... [The bandages around his ribs make it hard to breathe.]
no subject
She frowns when she sees him, he looked awful. He looked as frail as ever looked. Elizabeth bit her tongue against whatever clip she was going to give him about that sort of nonsense near her.]
No, you're not, because if this were England of my time, you'd be dead from those injuries...
[she tsked at him though.] Besides haven't you figured by now I call everyone that? The only one whose different is my lord Cross. [she shrugs, walking closer going about things orderly, sitting the drink and food down beside him on the bedside table before finding a chair to drag closer and sit beside him.]
no subject
In England...I would not...have had great friends...like I do here... [Kanda perhaps but not Raven or Kiriko.]
Don't...need a title... 'm just...Lavi.
no subject
No, you wouldn't have. So aren't you lucky? [because she could already see his grace and it makes her shudder.]
You might not be, but I will still call you that, because you are my friend here also.
no subject
I am...a rabbit... [A weak grin at the nickname that he normally hated.]
Why not...call me Lavi...?
no subject
Rabbits aren't that lucky when they end up in pots and turned into muffs. [she sighed and lent back.] Is it not the same thing 'my lord Lavi'? To me is, it's common courtesy. Because if I am to call you just Lavi, then you need to start calling me just Elizabeth.
no subject
The ones...that get away...are the lucky...ones... [A slight shake of his head starts but it stops as she mentions calling her by her given name.] It...isn't polite for...me to...
no subject
They are. But you nearly went into a pot, and you know it too. [she gave him a stern look -- and then a exasperated sigh at his protest.] And it doesn't bother me one way or another, why does it bother you if I call you 'my lord'? I call everyone 'my lord'. Save Cross, but that's because he is a General. It's polite, that's what it is, and you're being hypocritical. [she draws a slow breath in.] I thought about what you said, for I've had much time to think, and there needs to be an understanding between us Lavi. We both have duties to do, and neither of them pleasant. I am sorry I grew upset with you when I was... drunk. Sorrier still that you left before I could explain why I was so upset. But I didn't understand why you were so upset with me, either.
no subject
Not yet...not here... [Rubbing at his face with his unbound hand.] "My lord" is...for those of...higher class... "Sir" is the least...of what I should...be called...
[This...is going to be hard to explain with these bandages hampering his breathing. Lavi's hand goes for the fastenings, undoing them so that he might talk normally. He'll regret it later.]
I was upset because you didn't think highly of yourself, you were lowering yourself the way that they wanted to back home. To make you fold in on yourself and simply give up. That wasn't the queen I had admired and the friend that I had come to know.
no subject
No, not yet, which I'm thankful for. [she shakes her hand.] 'My Lord' is whomever I think is worthy of respect. I give people those titles, I give them that respect when I call them that. Is that so hard to understand? [Which she was sick of people correcting her on that, when it was all she was trying to do.]
... I'm glad that is what you meant. [she just didn't know how to begin with it. Confusing, all of it.]
no subject
No, it is just not something I want for myself, a title like that. [Even out of respect.]
You are a good queen and a good person, my lady, even if you have a temper it just means you are human like the rest of us.
