[After several days of ~~hiding out~~ waiting in the apartment building, Alma couldn't take it anymore. It felt like everyone was out fighting and risking their lives but him... which he knew wasn't technically true, but he was too worried to count technicalities. He knew he should stay put. Knew he should wait for his friends to come back and for this all to be over, but... it was quiet now. Every day had brought fewer and fewer gunshots, fewer screams, and longer periods of quiet.

As night fell the boy gathered his courage and snuck quietly out of the apartment building. He wouldn't be gone long, or so he told himself. Just long enough to peek around in the places he last knew his friends to be.]

[Good grief, Kanda! Watch it!

Lavi's wood seal sends a raging tornado filled with debris and rubble from the ruined city the soldiers' way. Added incentive to run away from the Hell Insects. Tornadoes always do the trick.]

[The soldier's scrambling to his feet as soon as he feel that his leg is released. The other two that had tried to drag their comrade back helped, and as soon as the former was on his feet, rifles where cocked and ready to fire.]

G-Get back! We'll shoot!

Hey. [Rin turns to greet him, tail swishing slightly behind him as he looks Lavi over. His grip on his sword relaxes slightly.]

You okay?

[He glances back out towards the bridge.] They're still coming across. Better get to scaring them off before more get over to this side.

[Dainn just laughs. normal bullets? please. if you wanted him to worry, you should use something solar powered.]

Well if you want to avoid needlessly wasting your guns, I suggest you leave. But I wouldn't be suprised if you foolish humans try fighting me.

[either way, it doesn't look like he's moving. let him have it?]

[bruised and a little roughed up, Dextera had gone to the train stations to check them out for any soldiers. his regeneration was still working so the mute decided he could push on a little longer.

so he was hiding behind a train, listening carefully for any the sounds of anyone approching where he was. he didn't like killing normal humans, but it had to be done. it had to be done...]

[Rin stands with his back to Kiriko, attention trained on the now fallen soldier not far from him. His shirt is blood stained from what looks to be the exit side of bullet wounds to the chest and he's covered in smears of blood and mud hear and there from fighting. His sword is drawn, blue fire running down the blade, and there are two flames on his head looking much like horns.

Hearing the friendly voice he turns towards the doctor, looking him over with concern. His features seem to have taken a turn towards the more demonic with his elongated canines and longer pointed ears.]

Could ask the same thing about you doc.

[Her astral form could be rather impressive, but Doc was not one she wanted to scare... Fortunately, she really was seeking to just knock out, unless forced otherwise, and with the retreat of her Corvus-form, she turned her attention to him. Still levitating, hidden in her blue cloak and cowl as always.]

I'm alright...I'm...sorry if I scared you.

[Floating closer as she spoke, she honestly hadn't meant to scare him, although she was glad to see he was armed, and he didn't seem hurt so far.]

[Just a light laugh from him.] Yeah, just had a bit of fun over near the apartments, there's a big ditch now. Wide enough they can't cross without equipment they didn't bring over.

[He looks out over the bridge frowning.] Not sure why the bridges are even still standing if they don't want us over there and they don't come over here.

[But to scare them...] I can send a dragon their way.

Should keep them out a while. You'd think they'd rip the damn things down if they really wanted us out.

[His eyes widen a little in surprise. He's never seen anyone summon a dragon and that is just damn cool. In his excitement he forgets to keep quiet.]

A real one?! [He catches himself and lowers his voice again.]

Friggin' awesome. I'll go out with it. Give me the word when you're ready.

We might have to make it somewhat unsafe to cross if they start to bring heavier things over.

[Startled rabbit is startled and loses his footing on the rocks. Catching himself.]

No-not a real one, one of fire and iron. You'll see.

[He pulls his hammer out and combines the fire and heaven seals, calling out the dragon which he sends screaming in the direction of the approaching soldiers.]

Yeah. Can't let them start bringing the heavy fire power.

[For just a split second Rin stares after the dragon, thoroughly impressed.]

Damn that's bad ass!

[He dashes after the dragon drawing his blade. As he does so his features change towards the more demonic, canine and ears elongating. Two blue flames appear at his head much like horns and the tuft of fur at the end of his tail turns to fire as well. The flames run down the blade of the sword and then totally engulf Rin as he runs screaming at the enemy.]

GET OUTTA HERE YA BASTARDS!

[Oh don't worry, them being from Credinta - despite some of their briefing and the stories that they had been told - they all let out a shout and unison and fired until the magazine was empty.

Because, really, what else were they to do? They weren't cowards; there was no way that they were going to run, even if the odds were against them. They'd do whatever they could to try and bring out the citizens of the accursed city. That's the entire reason why they were here, after all.]

[Lavi almost laughs but the sound is cut off from watching Rin bound away with flames himself. Obviously his younger comrade has more under his hat than just a tail and pointy ears/teeth.

But he can't yell after the other at the moment. Instead he's sending two slightly smaller fire/heaven seal dragons after him. Though he can't make the flame blue to match.]

[Sasuke had been wandering around the city throughout the week, making sure that there weren't any soldiers or their traps laying in wait for a surprise attack. He was exhausted, but still pushed himself. Despite that, he only had minimal injuries, surprisingly. It felt good to be out and fight in such a way after three very long, long years.

Though he was wandering, he was also searching for bandages that were hopefully - maybe - left in decent enough condition to be used. Just in case. Though he wasn't the best at it, and it definitely wasn't his field of expertise, he knew a little first aid, at least. Enough to get by in a battle.

His search proved to be hopeless form what he could see, sticking to only the ground floor this time around, and stopped when he noticed the shock of short red hair and hammer that belonged to Lavi. He didn't approach, knowing that after so long, any fighter would likely be on high guard.]

You all right, Lavi?

[Sasuke had been on his way back to the apartments from spending the say by and around the rec center, fighting and scaring off the soldiers. He was weary, though by no means too exhausted.

He stopped when he saw Dextera, pausing for a moment.]

You get caught out here during the excitement?

[They all pushed themselves rather hard to protect their little home, there were so few of them that they had to. The ones that could fight always did so.

Lavi's always managed to keep a few on him, no worries there. Though he does glance Sasuke's way when the shinobi makes his way up. The redhead hushes him.]

There are soldiers in the hospital, saw'em go in hours ago and haven't heard any screams.

[Right, the question.] I'll be alright, just need to see Raven soon.

[Kanda was tired. He had stuck close to the apartments throughout the past week, and he would be lying if he said he wasn't injured. He had poorly patched up injuries from bullets, things that could be taken care after he was sure the soldiers were gone.

He hid out in a partially collapsed house and was on his way back to it for the night (he checked in on Alma in the mornings, before he went out to fight), when something - someone caught his eye.

It was Alma.]

What are you doing out here?

Aren't we all? [There's a dry twist to her lips, amused if only privately. She was continually frustrated with her own lack of use in this.]

How goes it otherwise? [she nodded her head out, towards the soldiers.] Are they succeeding, or rather, advancing or not?

[because if not, they needed to try harder, and she'd think of something else again.]

Yu? [Alma peered through the falling darkness, but the exorcist's voice was more than enough to confirm his identity and the boy quickly scrambled forward toward his friend.

Yu was okay! So far as he could see at that moment.]

I was worried...

[the mute shakes his head and pulls out the device so he can write something down.]

No. Came down here to help.

[he even brought the Atonement Sword - though the weapon looks far too blunt to be any use, oddly enough.]

[called it. Dainn laughs again and it seems some of the bullets do hit him. he staggers and for a moment, it looks like he's going down when his body starts to leak shadows. it quickly covers where ever the bullets had hit and heals them. normally his regeneration wasn't so flashy, but...]

Humm...well, not that bad of a try. But you'll need to try harder...

[and with that, Dainn folds his arms and sinks into the ground. he's not gone, though. within a few minutes a pool of darkness will start to appear under the soldiers and if they don't move, a larger shadow claw will try to grab them without warning and drag them underground. you really don't want to find out what happens then...]

[They do stagger back, move away from each other, but there's enough fear and shock that their legs don't take them fully away from the shadows, and they do get caught.

Guess they'll be finding out the hard way.]

[HE'LL HEAL. Besides, he's had worse :|

Kanda stops and reaches to hold onto the closest tree. He knows he won't be sucked into the tornado, but it does also provide a little extra cover for him too.

And he might just want to watch them run as well.]

[Kanda couldn't help but let out a breath, moving to kneel down to Alma's height. One thing he knew was going to happen was he was going to get a hug. A tight, worried, Alma hug. (The pain was always worth his hugs.)]

We're all fine, if not a little roughed up. I promise.
