Target Practice...

Characters: Uchiha Shisui, Uchiha Sasuke (and Uchiha Itachi if ya wanna join in 'Tachi :3)

Summary: Shisui decides to ask if Sasuke wouldn't mind helping him with target practice and... make good on that promise of spending time with his littlest cousin. 


He remembered promising Sasuke he'd spend some time with him. It had been a few weeks since his arrival and Shisui had yet to make good on that promise. And so, making his way down to room 303, he pauses in front of the door for a moment before knocking gently. 

"Sasuke?" 

Shisui would have barged right in and surprised him, but he had reason to be wary.

What reason would that be, exactly? Sure, he may not be completely right in the head anymore (especially when you go with people like Orochimaru and Madara and are forced to spend three years of your life stuck in barren and desolate cities), but he hasn't really had a psychotic break in years. He's sane, really.

When he hears the knock on his door, Sasuke looks up from the book he had been reading before getting up to answer the door. He had told his brother and cousin that they were free to come by his room whenever, for whatever reason, but it was still a little odd to actually have visitors. Sasuke can't really recall a time that he even had any outside of family and, years ago, Matt. Guess he really had become a hermit, a loner. At least it was something he was used to being, though he hasn't actively done anything to get out of Nesreca in about a year.

Things that needed to be changed, eventually.

But first, the door. He opened it and glanced down at Shisui, unable to keep from raising a curious eyebrow. "What is it?" What can he help you with?

That reason being personal big boy things, Sasuke >.> He didn't want to barge in on your privacy. People did that to him, and he almost burned them for it. Just taking precautions here...

Of course he has no idea how far from sane you might have been in the past few years. Last time he checked, there was a clan. But ever since Itachi had told him what had been about to happen, he could only wonder.

When the door opened, however, Shisui let out a breath, only to raise an eyebrow of his own when he figured Sasuke had to look down to meet his eye. Damn, he'd never get used to the little cousin all grown up thing.

"I was just-- Are you busy?"

Or it's just common courtesy. Something even he knows that their clan lacked at times. They weren't known to be the most kind people, especially the older shinobi set in their ways.

Oh boy, don't let Sasuke tell you, since he had only heard from Madara in the past. Something no one in their right mind would be pleasantly happy to hear about.

He's only average height! Not that tall, really. It's people like Kakashi that are freakishly tall. Five foot six, at most. Last time he checked, anyway.

"Of course not." There was definitely curiosity in his voice when he spoke. "Did you need something, Shisui?"

No, they weren't kind, sometimes weren't even allowed to be.

Itachi seemed to have left the part about Madara out, though, and for now, Shisui didn't suspect too much, but some things just didn't seem to add up, and he would be asking questions a little later. Just not today, though.

And hey, Sasuke's still taller than him. The last time he remembered seeing him, he was cute and short and at just the right height for all the hair ruffling.

"No, not really." Actually, he did... "It's just that--" He stops here, takes a deep breathe, and smiles. "Would you like to train with me? I'm not sure how good I am now without an eye, but let's find out, hm?"

Ironically, that was something Sasuke attempted to defy when he was a child, but when he looks back on those days, he couldn't blame himself with feeling disappointed in the end. Nothing he did was good enough, not until his father had begun to suspect Itachi, and it was only then that he was paid attention to by his father. Life sucked, but he still thinks of those days as his happiest. 

Leaving things out was something he honestly expected from his brother. Itachi had left....everything out, in regards to family and village politics, and he had to learn from their ancestor. But, Itachi has his reasons for everything he does. He loves his family, that much Sasuke has come to learn. 

Sasuke can't help but raise an eyebrow at the slight hesitation. And, well, while he didn't have the targets for it readily available, they could come up with something on the spot. But he's got just the perfect set of targets in mind. 

"We can do a little target practice if you'd like."
