Back-dated start to Feb 26th-->Ongoing. "Investigating Haunted Places"
Characters: Raven, Kiriko George---others welcome?
When: Starts Feb 26th--ongoing
Where: various places around Nesreca
Rating: PG?
Summary: Raven and Kiriko are going to investigate haunted places, and try to find similarities/clues. Others are welcome to join in, as it'll take place over multiple nights/days/etc.

It was about 2 days after posting the idea, but Raven was ready to start investigating--and Doc was still willing to go with her, they'd start. Even if traditionally, hauntings weren't scientific--Raven had her ways. She could 'sense' at least enough, with her Empathy, to tell if a place was legitimately likely to have presences. Not that she could tell more than that, yet...
So the best place to start, was by heading to the obvious. The Graveyard; start by getting an idea/picture of what the place was like, any tell-tale signs or clues to it being haunted, any encounters. Once they progressed to other buildings in Nesreca, they could add more information (like how it seemed only the previously restored places, had claw-marks? That was the rumor...)

Dressed in his typical army green, Kiriko entered the Graveyard quietly and cautiously, medical bag slung over his shoulder. Greeted by immediate silence, he Doctor shuddered. In truth, he hadn't been to a graveyard before, and it was uncanny. The nearest one back at home was near the town, far away from their isolated cabin home. Having attended no funerals, he'd never had a reason to visit one. The closest thing he'd seen to a funeral in his life was watching the corpses of soldiers he'd failed to treat be taken away unceremoniously to be buried. He imagined he'd be seeing a lot more graveyards after the war.
Kiriko shuffled in his spot nervously. He wasn't scared, but death hung heavy in the air. "Raven?" He called out quietly, as though afraid to wake whatever might rest here.

Raven probably didn't help matters, as she herself was quiet, and in a dark tattered long coat under a billowing blue cloak and hood. That she was 'creepy' was not helped by the environment, even as she tried to not surprise the doctor. "I'm here, Doc...there are no presences right at this moment, but this place definitely does have activity."
As usual, her voice was calm, fairly monotone at times, and steady. Not scared at all, but having the company was nice for other reasons.

Feeling somewhat assured that they had no unwanted company, Kiriko relaxed, looking the area over. "I'd think most ghosts would want to haunt their final resting place," Kiriko wondered aloud, "but I'm no expert. Think we'll find anything?"

Moving to join him, she thought back to what little she knew, and stretched out her senses, Empathy included. "One of the big things that makes most people looking for ghosts disappointed, is they expect a ghost every single time. In reality, most hauntings take place over a period of time, with periods of quiet, and periods of activity. There are things people can do to make an encounter more likely, but there's often no sure-fire guarantee." Closing her eyes, she breathed, focusing and centering herself. "I'm...as I mentioned, where I'm from, I work with a team, as a bunch of superheroes. Some of my abilities are augmented by magic, and allow me to be able to sense things. It's part of why I can tell when a place is actually haunted, versus just creepy."
Letting her eyes open again, they flicked to Kiriko. "I thought we'd start by checking every place we can, and seeing what might make places that ARE haunted, different from places that aren't. And then seeing if there's anything to those hauntings---like a specific pattern. I can try and also make an encounter more likely, once we have a baseline too."
