Characters: Mello [
slavic_sinner] and Shihouin Yoruichi [
bakanekotaichou]
When: After this.
Where: Over by the river, then over to the burnt village.
Rating: TBA
Summary: Curiosity leads to take Mello and Yoruichi out to follow the smoke, and find out what exactly happened.
Five minutes. Yoruichi didn't respond back, merely grinning that same, catty grin to herself. She was there in less the three, and she had taken her time. One flash step from the roof, landing soundlessly on the ground below, her hair billowing out behind her. She had actually walked the rest of the way, her arms folded neatly inside the sleeves of her haori, the light, black shoes she wore crunching the snow underfoot.
Since arriving a little early she waited, her arms falling limply at her sides, one hand resting on the hilt of her zanpakutou. Golden eyes strayed over the water, and at the town around her, questioning once again why she was here when she had such an important post back home. Not to mention why was anyone really here, and what their purpose was, and if their was any specific reason they were chosen.
She remained in her thought process as she waited, simultaneously aware of her surroundings, half focused the different reiatsu around her, and which ones may move closer to her.

He walked right up to her, raising an arm a bit in a casual but wordless greeting.

She returned his greeting with a slight bow, regarding him with golden, cat-like eyes. It was another thing that she questioned, how humans were able to view her when usually she remained unseen to their eyes. It gave her something else to ponder over later.
"I'm Yoruichi," she offered, having not given a name earlier. It should have been something she ave first, but it was always better late then never.

"Call me M," he instructed more than introduced himself, crisp and businesslike. This was a business expedition, in a way. Strictly reconnaissance, as far as he was concerned. He took a bite out of the half-eaten chocolate he carried in one hand, producing a soft snap and not giving a damn whether or not it was considered rude.

That didn't mean she always did though. But in a new place, around new people, she had decided to observe and learn as to know her limits. It as what she had taught her Onmitsukidou troops, so she'd abide by it as well.
"Alright, M. Let's go then." She gave a nod, wasting little time and turned, ready to set out for their destination.
It had been a first instinct to use her shunpo, and really she could have been there in a matter of moments, but the reiatsu of the other spoke of being just a normal human, and the impossibility that he wouldn't be able to keep up was there. So her footsteps fell, light, silent, and at a decent pace.

"Any brilliant plans?" he drawled, snapping off another piece. Strictly reconnaissance on his part--he didn't feel like getting involved before he knew more--but it would be good to know what this woman wanted, if they were to travel together. Even if he was not above simply ditching her if it was convenient.

"It is simple recon. Get in, find out what we can, and get out of there before whatever caused the destruction catches us, or before they come back."
She had other reasons for going, it was her duty to perform the konsou, because if their had been casualties, maybe there were still wandering pluses around. She still wasn't accustomed to this place, and she might be wrong, and maybe it wasn't needed. But it was all something abnormal to explain to a human, and would likely get her a good deal of strange looks. Then again there was that one kid who knew...
Well, she'd take her chances for now, and explain when, and if the time came.

Finishing up his chocolate bar and tossing the wrapper to the floor--it hardly mattered, in a place like this--he stared over in the direction the smoke had been coming from, the direction they were currently heading. "Is that sword all you've got?"

Yoruichi was always strictly confidant in her abilities, especially shunpo. She had acquired the title' Goddess of Flash' and there wasn't a soul in Soul Society that could contest that name. She wasn't about to let it go anytime soon either. As for her other skills, her positions spoke volumes of that.
"Yeah. It's all I need."

He did have to ask though, "Oh? How fast are you?" Clearly, she had more up her sleeve than she was showing outright.
no subject
"As fast as I need to be."
no subject
"That must be convenient."
no subject
"It really is."
She fell silent once again, continuing to walk forward toward their destination. Her mind once again raced about what it was that had caused it, even though she had ruled out hollows since she had not sensed any peculiar reiatsu. Still that didn't mean anything, and she had to ready herself for whatever might come, and just hope she didn't have to use any kidou spells.

Keeping his gun at the ready, he moved closer, sticking to the shadows of the buildings and making his way over silently and as quickly as he could. He was here for information, so he wouldn't shoot or attract attention to himself unless absolutely necessary.
