Now the dark is taking over
Characters: Uchiha Sasuke [
theloneheir] and Uchiha Itachi [
fan_of_red_dawn]
When: June 18th, morning
Where: Outskirts of Nesreca
Rating: Um. PG-13?
Summary: Sasuke's seal has started to react after almost six months of being unrestricted. Itachi doesn't like this, and decides it's time to finally get rid of the snake inside before worse comes to worst.
Sasuke still didn't like this idea. Itachi wanted to out Orochimaru from him using what he assumed to be his ultimate doujutsu, but he still couldn't help but ponder the consequences. He knew the Mangekyou, with continued use, would render the user blind. He knew that, and he's been subject to it multiple times within the last eight, almost nine years. But what he didn't know, and what bothered him the most, was exactly how blind Itachi was without the use of his Sharingan.
It only bothered him because Itachi never told him anything. That was one of the few things that hadn't changed about his brother at all, even if they lost nine years of their lives together.
A flash of pain passed through as Sasuke sat waiting. He flinched, and just like yesterday, raised a hand to cover the mark. The pain was similar to what he had first gotten it five years ago, he noted. Ever since Orochimaru realized what he was capable of in this world, the flashes of pain had been coming more frequently, especially since he had made plans with Itachi to do this. He knew what Orochimaru was trying to do, but wearing him down so he could attempt to claim his body again wasn't going to work. He had overcome that just once, and he would do it again.
Yet that didn't keep the snake from trying. Another, stronger flash of pain caused Sasuke to tighten his hold on the side of his own neck, biting down on the inside of his cheek.
Itachi had better hurry up. Orochimaru was getting impatient.

Itachi had better hurry up. Orochimaru was getting impatient.

So now he silently approached where he had told Sasuke to meet him. He had left his cloak behind because today he did this not as a member of Akatsuki, but as an older brother. This was what he could do for Sasuke, and perhaps the last thing he would do. A thought that had nestled into the back of his mind. But it was buried, tossed to the side for the moment as he stepped into place, facing Sasuke. his hands rested limp at his sides, his hair pulled back into his usual low ponytail, his bangs free to fall across his face due to the absence of the hitai-ate. All outward appearance spoke of a a focused calmness, ready to begin.
"Are you ready, otouto?"

The teen simply gritted his teeth together and nodded. He had taken out his sword from the seal on his wrist, after a few attempts, and left it at his apartment, just to be on the safe side. Orochimaru's jutsus had placed them there to begin with, and he didn't want to chance them disappearing after the snake was killed too.
"Always. Orochimaru's getting more impatient by the second, however." Itachi would be able to tell, too, by the slight strain and tiny trails of blood on his neck around the mark. It was just slightly obvious that he was in pain.

He wasted no time, straight to the point. The sooner Orochimaru was out the better, in his opinion. The snake had been to much trouble for him and Sasuke.
Itachi nodded shifting, everything about him settling into preparation for this. His legs moving into a better stance, his arms taut and ready to go on the offensive and defensive, whichever the might need first, and his eyes, along with that shift in his chakra flow, the Mangekyou spinning to the surface.
"Come. And do not hold back, Sasuke."

Sasuke easily threw a flurry of taijutsu at his brother. He wanted to see how he would do, first, under the strain. Genjutsu and ninjutsu could wait until he was sure Itachi wasn't lying about his well-being just to get Orochimaru out of him.
In the back of his mind, he couldn't help but compare this against when he had fought Itachi last, with hatred, and the intent to kill him. It was hard to believe that it had been just over a year ago, way back in Toshima, at Nakano Chapel... A location that Sasuke had picked out himself, that he had saw to be fitting and ironic, and at least distantly related to where Itachi had killed his best friend, if only in name.
This was different, however. There was no hatred behind his attacks, no intent to harm or kill. The same went for Itachi, too. This time, it was just two brothers fighting, helping one another in the unusual way that they only knew how. Their family was far, far from normal, after all.

All the same, Itachi kept his brother in the center field of his vision, moving just as fast as he normally would, meeting, and blocking each kick and punch that came his way. His face remained impassive, watching with calculating eyes as they moved meeting each others blow for blow.

Finally, after a few minutes, Sasuke activated his Sharingan. The pain intensified, and caused him to flinch, but it wouldn't stop him. He was determined to get the snake out, dammit.
"Don't just dodge, Itachi." Itachi would be able to hear it in his voice too, the strain. It was almost as if it was taking everything just to keep the seal at bay.

"Then come at me like you would have before you heard everything from Madara."
He focused his eyes. He had already decided that genjutsu was to come next. To wear him down, and then follow up immediately with ninjutsu. He just had to make sure Sasuke wasn't going to keep holding back.

Crimson eyes narrowed, holding out his hand as if he were holding a sword. Then, a second later, chidori gathered in his hand and he thrust it forward, the blade extending from the ball of energy and toward Itachi.
You had better dodge that, Itachi.

It wasn't much more then a second later, Itachi's body twisting and warping, finally dispersing in a murder of crows, the rustle of feathers and the onslaught of caws filling the air.
no subject
He flinched again as the chucking started again, and this time Sasuke did reach up to place a hand over the mark. Crimson eyes darted back in forth in search for Itachi's real body, ignoring the taunting happening in his head.
He didn't need to hear the damn snake anymore than he had to.
sorry for such a short tag orz

Sasuke squeezed his neck briefy before relunctantly removing his hand, reaching down and removing first the arm guards, then the bandages underneath. When that was done, he tapped his wrist and pulled out the paper thin wire attached to several shuriken.
With calculating eyes, he threw them with almost deadly percision at and around Itachi, intending to wrap the wires around his brother. But, if he managed that, there was a big chance that he would not follow through with the second half of the technique.

He could not say Sasuke's next move was not surprising, but he had been expecting near anything, after so long with Orochimaru. The former sannin had a vast array of jutsu, to which Itachi sometimes thought that could rival his own. So while surprising, and expected, Itachi moved out of the was, the push of chakra in his feet, moving himself out of the way.
His next move would have to be carefully planned. If not executed correctly, if not dodged correctly it could be fatal.

He had to hurry; had to do something--
Sasuke stopped there, eyes widening slightly as a hand flew up to cover his mouth. He hunched over just slightly, and seconds after, blood seeped through the cracks between his fingers and dripped down onto the ground.
Orochimaru was attacking him from the inside.

It was short lived, though. So that when Sasuke stopped, Itachi had to stop himself as well, one of his hands coming up to cover his right eye.
"It is too soon. Fight him Sasuke."

Sasuke let out another violent cough, more blood seeping through his fingers. He was starting to shake, now, as the tomoe slowly started to spread even further. Dammit, he'd be damned if he lost to the snake now, of all times.
He wasn't even sure how much of an effect it would be, but he had to at least try it. It worked while fighting Deidara, after all. Within an instant, Sasuke surrounded himself with his chidori nagashii, cringing as he felt the electricity run through his system.
Itachi had better hurry.
no subject
Itachi turned his gaze fully on Sasuke, hoping he knew that he was the next target. With what Orochimaru had taught him, Itachi jnew that there was something, anything that could be done to counter it.
no subject
He glanced back over at his brother, strained and holding off the pain, but willingly letting the tomoe spread further. He would need the brief power boost to help him run from the flames, despite how fast he had become. Itachi still had the upper hand in that area.
no subject
When Sasuke glanced back to him, Itachi focused again, letting the second Amaterasu emerge forth, his hand covering his eye once it did, watching with his other to see it it was pulled off successfully.

He only had one shot left. He wanted to miss, not wanting to harm Itachi, and that itself made Orochimaru smirk within his mind. It was a waste of chakra, and really, it's what they were all aiming for when it came down to it.
no subject
He waited for Sasuke to get close, his fingers flexed and ready. The moment he was in range, Itachi would reach out and grab his wrist and toss him and his chidori away, just as he had nearly three years ago.

Best save that move for Naruto.
Sasuke's breathing grew heavier as he forced himself onto his feet. In a way, this reminded of his fight with Deidara. It was in the sense that it was utterly exhausting, and he was running out of chakra. Yet it was different. He was having difficulty breathing due to Orochimaru, and he had already hacked up blood. And it scared him.
But enough of that. Sasuke placed a hand on the seal while the other rested on his knee. He stood there, trying to breathe and hunched over, waiting to see what Itachi's next move would be.
