So blood loss can be fatal....who knew?

Characters: Naruto, Sasuke, Okami and Yoruichi.
When: July 25th
Where: The streets of Nesreca.
Rating: Uh...PG-13 for blood and possible language?
Summary: Sasuke has been bitten by Kamui and drained near the point of death. So it's Naruto, Okami and Yoruichi to the rescue!

Naruto had been giving Sasuke CPR ever since he made sure help was on its way and shut off his communicator. He grew more nervous and upset the longer he repeated the steps with no result. No matter what he did Sasuke's breathing wouldn't regulate right and he could tell the Uchiha was fading fast.

"Come on you guys, you're supposed to be here helping me," he muttered to himself as he pressed down on Sasuke's chest.

He threw his head back and laughed, in much higher spirits now. "I could, but what fun would that be? He's not awake to respond with his usual "Hn". Besides you're my company and I want to put you out."

He stretched out his legs and scratched the back of his head. "So, are you feeling any better?"

Okami smiled softly, nodding, "I'm starting to feel better, I just need to rest a little longer." He raised his hand, extending a finger and a golden colored mist circling around the tip for a brief moment. He shrugged his shoulders, glancing at him, "How about you? You went through a lot today."

He stared at the mist while it was visible and then raised a questioning brow towards Okami. He was learning quickly that the other boy could do a lot of things he'd never seen or heard of before. "I'm fine. This is nothing new to me. Things like this happen all the time back home. Well...not exactly the same but still dangerous."

"Even if you're used to things like this happening...doesn't mean it can't still bother you." He smiled softly and shook his head, shifting a little and undoing the top clip on his jacket, "I suppose we all come from dangerous worlds...but this one is more dangerous, we don't have the advantage of knowing what to expect."

He sighed, "But...as long as we stick together, I'm sure it'll turn out okay."

He nodded and stared down at the ruined carpet covering the floor. After a moment of silence he looked up again and tilted his head towards Okami to get his attention. "You know, my old sensei had this strong belief in teamwork. He really did his best to beat it into us. You should always be able to count of your teammates and work together."

Okami watched him while he spoke, looking away slowly, "It sounds like you respect him a lot." He smiled, "I'm sure it makes him very happy to know that you carry around his teachings with you, it's one of the greatest things a student can do for their teacher."

"I guess you can say that. He's kind of crazy but I've learned a lot from him." Speaking of teachers he can't help but think of Jiraiya. He wondered if he was doing what his other teacher would want of him. If he was proud of him.

"So how about you? I'm sure you have someone who taught you how to heal right?"

Okami blinked, smiling softly and shaking his head slowly, "No, not the healing..." He pressing his hand to his heart, closing his eyes, "It's something my mother's people are born with, I just instinctively know...it's part of me."

He lowered his and to his lap, smiling weakly, "My mother tried to teach me as much as she could. Sometimes, I thought I'd never remember it all. I still can't teleport properly." He sighed, "I guess...she knew she was going to die young."

He shifted, rubbing the back of his neck, "But she left detailed books that I could learn from and what I didn't learn from those, my older brother taught me." He laughed softly, "He's better with sword fighting than magic...but he did teach me blood magic, it's something forbidden to learn but it has its uses."

He blinked, blushing a little, "I guess it's complicated." He shook his head, smiling at him, "I'm sure that your teacher would be glad to hear you speak so fondly of him."

He blinked, clearly lost by all the magic talk. He had no idea what any of it meant, or could do. But when Okami spoke of his mother Naruto gave him an understanding nod. His own mother had died young too, at least he believed she did since he'd been an orphan for as long as he could remember.

"She must have been a great mother to leave you books and stuff to learn from even after she'd died."

He chuckled at the mention of his sensei again and shook his head. "Maybe. It'd be kind of hard to tell since he's always wearing a mask over the bottom half of his face."

"A mask?" He smiled softly, "Even if you can't see his expression, there are ways of telling...like the things he does, even if his words can be harsh."

Okami pushed his hair back again, his smile fading a little, "She was...but...lately, I've been starting to forget her...and my father." He shook his head, "It's just been so long."

He glanced at him, tilting his head, "What about your parents?"

"Well, yeah, I guess there are ways to tell." He'd honestly never really thought about it too much.

He scratched his forehead under his headband and tilted his head. "Really? How long has it been?"

He went still at the mention of his parents and then shrugged. "I never knew them. Until recently I didn't even know who they were." Yeah, suddenly meeting the Fourth Hokage in his head and learning he was his father was very shocking and random. But at least he knew he wasn't alone now.

Okami started, bowing his head a little, "I'm sorry..." He shifted, smiling gently, "I'm sure they would be proud of you. You're a very kind person."

He blinked, playing with the tips of his boots absently, "How long?" He sighed, "It's been thirteen years...I guess it doesn't seem that long and it's terrible for me to be forgetting already..." He shook his head, "My people live for a long time...not as long as the immortals but...still. I keep thinking, soon I'll forget them completely."
