Credinta raid

Characters: Mitsunari Ishida, Sora, Sagan Yōuji, Uzumaki Naruto, Link
When: Evening of Sept 16
Where: Starting by the river over into Credinta
Rating: T
Summary: Raiding Credinta, again.

The rain would make good cover for their raid. Mitsunari couldn't see the troops on the other side of the river clearly but he knew from many long stack outs of his own that by now they would be tired and a bit cranky and counting the time they could go back inside, in short they would not be thinking about their job.

He smiled, and absentmindedly pulled out a length of fuse to finish off the package he was having Naruto deliver. With the boy's flare for the dramatic he was sure that he could find just the place this would be most dramatic.

Leaning back under the awning, he settled down watching the rain, not much longer before this party would get started.

A short time later Naruto appeared, walking so fast he was nearly running, towards where Mitsunari was sitting. He was, of course, still a girl and the clothes Sakura had finally forced him into where a ill fit and hung off all the wrong areas.

He came to a halt in from of the other man and grinned. "Hey, you have it all set up yet?" He glanced around their surroundings. "Is it just you and me?"

[identity profile] ramen4free.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
He accepted the package and looked it over curiously, idly listening to Mitsunari's instructions. He'd never actually dealt with this kind of bomb before.

"Uh...I just set it down, light the fuse and run like hell right?"

At least he knows the basic idea. In theory anyways. He nodded to the man's last instructions. "You got it."

[identity profile] ramen4free.livejournal.com 2010-09-17 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, I've used bombs before but they were really small and you throw them towards your opponent to disorient them." He listened silently to the instructions again and nodded resolutely.

"I wasn't planning on blowing it up near people! That would be cruel. I'll find a good place away from people and meet up with you guys later." With that he takes off to find the perfect spot for the distraction.

Youji appeared moments after Naruto took off, hair still tied up in pigtails. He'd walked a long way from the Joker's compound, but he wasn't tired. His feet would have a few blisters when he got home, but he wasn't aware of them.

"Heeeello," he greeted, stopping before Mitsunari and rocking on his heels.

There's Something in the Water

The rain was a welcome refresher to the last few days of having to deal with being... well, not himself. Even putting on the various masks didn't help as somehow those forms were girls as well. Even the Goron. He didn't think Goron had women among them as a race. They called each other brother and were... stone... more or less. Didn't even have the parts he was used to as a male Hylian. But as soon as that mask was on, he had certainly felt a change in his shape. It had been quiet disorientating.

But the rain had made his choice of appearance a little easier. As heavy as it was, he could swim up and down the river, dive in and jump out, without drawing the weapon fire of the people on the other side. They seemed less like fairies and more like regular folk - only meaner and more ready to hurt others. Matt fairy hadn't said anything about needing to retaliate against them, but Link got the feeling that at some point, he'd get a quest that required sneaking around or fighting them.

In the meantime, he was going to enjoy the swim as much as possible. It almost felt like flying.

Link's form ghosted back under the bridge and toward the bank where someone knelt by the water. It was the Fairy side of the river, a little ways down where it would be hard for the non-fairy side to see what was happening amidst the rain. The shadow of his Zora form swam past the woman kneeling there and flipped around, slowing his speed before coming to sit just under the water for a moment.

Then Link raised his head, the odd feminine lines of his body hidden mostly by the water, darkened as it was by the rain and the lack of sun.

Link tilted his head to one side and lifted a webbed hand just high enough to wave lightly.

What was this fairy doing so close to the dangerous boundary? Didn't she know there were people with mean weapons that could hurt her?

Youji looked at Mitsunari as though he'd grown two head, and his rocking slowed, head tilting. "...Fish people?" he repeated, coming closer to the river and peering in. "What do you mean?"

Link floated closer to the bank but a littler further down than the two fairies standing there, ducking back under the water for a few moments before both hands came out to grip the ground as he pushed himself out of the water. He turned around as he did so, so that he was sitting on the bank with his feet dangling in the water. His arm fins were large enough that moving away before getting out was practical.

At least as a Zora, his chest wasn't that much bigger than normal so the whole looking Ruto thing he was originally worried about was lessened greatly.

Youji's eyes grew round, and he stepped to stand behind Mitsunari, keeping him between himself and the...fish thing.

"Kill it!" he ordered. It was creepy looking, and he didn't like it at all.

Link's eyes, almost entirely composed of the pupil, blinked in shock. Kill him? But he had done nothing wrong!

Shaking his head side to side and waving his hands franticly in a 'no' gesture, he panicked just a little. What if angry fairies were like angry cucoos? That would hurt!!!

[identity profile] zer0feeling.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
"But it's groooss," he whined, glaring at it and nudging Mitsunari's back with the pads of his fingers. "Get rid of it. I don't like it." It was simple enough to his. Gross, annoying, or useless things should be gotten rid of, it was as simple as that.

Link's frantic waving stopped and he blinked once more in surprise. He was gross?

Link looked down at himself and saw only the Zora skin he currently existed in. It was the most comfortable thing to be in during a rainstorm. His clothes wouldn't get wet and his eyes didn't need to blink the water away.

But he supposed he could change if that would help...

Link reached behind him and pulled out a wooden mask. Placing it against his face, he held in a silent scream as his body changed to that of a Deku shrub and the Zora mask fell to the ground before him. Now the size of a small child at roughly one and a half to two feet tall, and covered with bark and leaves, Link picked up the mask and tucked in behind him. It disappeared and he was left with nothing but a flower in his hand and rather weepy looking eyes.

His petals and leaves becoming more soaked by the second, he held the small flower that had blossomed in the wake of his transformation out toward the two. At his feet, another bud was taking shape.

Youji's attitude seemed to change with the change, and he peered out from behind Mitsunari, lips curling into a soft smile. "Ohh, cuuute," he cooed, cheeks flushing. He wasn't particularly concerned with what it had been now that it was cute.

Happy at no longer being found gross by the pig-tailed girl, Link's pouty eyes didn't seem to change much, but he managed to blow a large bubble that floated across the space between them and up a few feet before going 'pop'.

The flower bud at his feet grew steadily.

[identity profile] zer0feeling.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Youji laughed at the bubble, venturing out from behind Mitsunari and closer to the creature, hoping it would make more of them. "Why were you a fish thing when you could be this thing? This is much cuter," he said with a decisive nod."

Link looked up at Youji and then pointed at the sky, followed by pointing at the water. It was obvious to him that in wet conditions, being a Zora was far more practical. And truthfully a bit more fun. A small squeak escaped him, sounding almost like a dog's squeaky toy.

At Mitsunari's question, Link tilted his head and shrugged. He certainly didn't recognize either of the two fairies.

Sora came running down to them, skidding to a halt and doubling over with his hands on his knees, taking a moment to catch his breath before straightening slowly and grinning at them, "Sorry I'm late." He'd been daydreaming again and lost track of time.

He shifted, folding his hands behind his head and glancing around at them. His eyes went wide when he spotted the strange creature, running over and dropping to his knees, "Whoa! What's this?"

[identity profile] zer0feeling.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"It's a tree thing that blows bubbles," Youji supplied, as though it were obvious, "And before that it was a gross fish thing. This is much cuter than a fish thing, don't you think?"

Link nodded at Mitsunari's question, letting out another squeak, the only happy sound he could make as a Deku. At least to those who weren't Deku themselves.

His sad eyes moved back to Youji and something about how the girl spoke made him think he'd seen her before somewhere. He just couldn't place it.

Sora's entrance and subsequent barreling over to take a closer look startled Link and with a surprised bubble blown right in the Keyblade Wielder's face, he spun down into the large flower that opened and bloomed at his feet. It closed in around him, looking like a one foot bud that was hiccuping just a little. A few seconds later, it opened and Link shot out upward, two flowers in his hands spinning like heli-copper propellers as he began drift downward from the apex of the toss.

The little plant-man's feet wiggled as the wind and rain pushed him slowly over the river and across to the other bank. A pouty squeak at flying in the wrong direction could be heard as he disappeared into the darkness of the evening.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora took the bubble in the face, falling onto his back, too startled to move at first, rubbing at his face and sitting up quickly, gasping. "Ah! Hey! I didn't mean to scare you!"

He jumped to his feet, folding his hands behind his head and glancing at Youji, "You said it used to be a fish thing...? Huh." It was sort of like his clothes, changing from world to world. "So, it can change back then?"

He watched again, stunned as the creature took off into the sky and out of sight. He shifted, dropping his hands back to his sides, grinning at Mitsunari, "A rescue mission and a raid?"

[identity profile] zer0feeling.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Youji took a few steps after it, but stopped at the river bank. He wasn't supposed to play in rivers. It didn't look so dangerous, but Nagisa-sensei said so, and even here he was uncertain about disobeying.

"Come back," he said with a pout, tail twitching and ears pressing low against his head. He looked back when Sora addressed him, twisting a face. "But it's ugly when it's a fish thing."

It was just bad luck for Youji that the 'fish thing' was 'ugly' because that was really Link's only option for getting back across the river without drawing attention to himself from the people on the other bank.

He landed securely enough on the opposite bank and waited a few moments to make sure he hadn't been seen. No shouts or sounds of the odd weapons could be heard. So carefully... ever so carefully, he edged over to the bank and slipped the Zora mask on.

The 'cute' deku form slipped away and fell to the ground. He picked the mask up automatically and then dived back in the river.

It took him a few times swimming up and down in the dark, rain disturbed water before he finally spotted the trio once more. In silence, his body glided under the surface toward them.

Sora scratched his head, "Ugly?" He hadn't seen it so he couldn't really judge but for some reason he kept picturing the half-fish people from Atlantica.

He walked over to the edge of the river, squatting down and squinting through the rain, "There's something coming." He got to his feet quickly, jumping back and holding out his hand, ready to summon his Keyblade.

[identity profile] zer0feeling.livejournal.com 2010-09-20 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Youji peered into the water, ears pricked as high as they could go with an extremely curious look on his face. "Can't we just play with the weird thing?"

Link slowed as he reached the bank once more, lifting his head from below and treading water just far enough from the edge to be in deep enough water. He had to fight the current, of course, but that was relatively simple for a guy with fins.

He tilted his head to the side and waved causiously at the group, hoping the pigtailed girl with cat ears wouldn't be too upset he was a Zora again. But it was kind of hard for him to swim otherwise....

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-09-20 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora straightened slowly, glancing at Mitsunari and relaxing after a moment, looking towards the bridge, "Is it okay to go over now? Everyone's here?"

He shook his head quickly, sending droplets of water flying from his hair. He started in the direction of the bridge, noticing the movement in the water. "Ah! Hey! I think it's the fish-guy!" He waved back. He blinked, "You think it needs help?"
