when there's something strange in the neighborhood

Characters: Yuuta, Sora, open
When: The Apartments/Library
Where: September 28
Rating: G-T
Summary: Yuuta wants to find out more about this place, and where else to go but a library? Of course, he also wants to see if there really are any ghosts about (and rule out the possibility that this is all some crazy dream/hallucination).

Yuuta made sure that his pocket knife was an easy reach for him, not sure what to expect from anyone or thing out here. In this ruined place, the people he was speaking to on the network might be little more than people who were thinking of using him to support themselves somehow. He didn't rule out kidnapping and human selling as a possibility.

Worse had happened in previous wars.

But, if he wanted to find any information or see if there really were spirits about (and get that chill off his back) he had to start somewhere. So he stood outside the main doorway of the apartments that strange girl had sent him to, waiting for... dammit he didn't ask for the person's name.

Sora stuffed the PDA into his pocket, glancing around the small room to make sure he had everything he needed. In the little time he'd been there, the room had...become a mess. Something glinted in the window as faint light broke through the clouds. Kairi's charm. He smiled at it, crossing the room in a few strides and grabbing it, slipping it carefully into the pocket with the rest of his keychains.

He rushed out the door, taking the stairs two at a time until he reached the entryway, almost crashing into the older teen waiting there. He stooped for a moment to catch his breath, looking up at him and grinning, rubbing the back of his head. "You weren't waiting long, were you?" He paused, "Oh," He held out his hand, "I'm Sora."

Sora glanced around, before pointing off in a direction, "I think it's that way, it should be pretty easy to spot." He looked at him, "You alright with a long walk?"

He grinned, folding his hands behind his head, "It'll be alright even if we run into trouble. I can fight."

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora tilted his head, lowering his hands back down to his sides, "I don't know how far it is, so it might be a long walk." He didn't mind, he was used to walking and he hadn't drawn his keyblade since he arrived.

He rubbed the back of his head, "If we see something dangerous, run and I'll hold it off. But we should probably start heading over there now."

Sora blinked, scratching at his cheek absently as he walked, "There's Credinta. But...it's kind of dangerous to go there." He shrugged, "I went with a group a week ago or somethin'."

He shrugged, folding his hands behind his head and looking up, "Dunno. That Sasuke guy knows a lot, but he's not that talkative." He tilted his head, "There's that little girl too, the one who gave us our rooms but she's not gonna tell us anything."

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-10-03 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora looked over at him, tripping over an crack but caught himself before he fell. He blinked, "Contact? I dunno 'bout that." He shrugged, "They all try to avoid us the time I went over. If someone wanted to help us, they probably couldn't do it with people around."

He frowned a little, "The little girl, she's dangerous." He glanced at him, "She...she was eating bodies and she didn't care that we saw her. I couldn't stop her. ...She said she has a Master."

Sora paused, "You okay?"

He rubbed the back of his head, "Jikininki?" He'd never heard that before but it didn't sound like something he wanted to deal with. He shrugged, "I dunno about that. Everything that's happened so far has been minor. No one's really been hurt yet." He started to walk down the path again.

<3 hee it's fine

Sora made a face, turning his head and shuddering. It didn't sound like something he wanted to run into--he hadn't seen anything like that here, but this place wasn't like any world he'd been to. Maybe there was one--or more, running around.

He tried to grin, "I think if there's anything like that here, it'd be more afraid of us, once it knows we can fight." He tilted his head, glancing around. He blinked, pointing to a strange building up ahead, "I think that might be it."

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Sora grinned, glancing at him and shrugging a little, "Race ya." He didn't wait for a response, breaking out into a run, careful to jump over anything that would trip him up.

He burst through the doors, holding his arms up and grinning. His "victory" was met with stagnant silence, a creepy feeling rolling down his spine. He shifted, turning around and poking his head out, "It's quiet in here."

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-10-24 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
Sora grinned, lacing his hands together behind his head and shifting, "Well, I figure if there had been one in here, it'd be better than I get the jump on it, rather than us coming in together and it getting us?" He rubbed the back of his head, "You worry too much, we made it here alright, right?"

He stretched a bit, "Guess we might as well look around then." He walked over to the nearest shelf, squinting one eye. He couldn't make heads or tales of any of it.

He huffed a little, ruffling his hair, "This is...why don't these things have some sort of translator?" He grumbled, uselessly brandishing his PDA at the books.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-02 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora folded his arms across his chest as he peered at the books, wrinkling his nose slightly. It was like being in school again. School. Wow, he hadn't been there in a year at least. His mom was gonna be so mad when he got back again.

He sighed to himself, hanging his head slightly before reaching out at random and picking a book off the shelf, flipping it open to a page and staring down. "Argh, I don't understand any of this. There has to be something in a different language." He was half-tempted to throw the book across the room but he calmly set it back in place, turning quickly and walking along the aisles.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"English? Um, I guess?" It wasn't like he'd had trouble when he was traveling to different worlds with Goofy and Donald. Somehow, everywhere they went, he'd been able to understand the language. But that was probably some sort of magic that he didn't have now.

Now, everything looked foreign and he was getting frustrated. Leon could probably read it, but he wasn't here either. He waved his hand, "I don't get it, it's not like when I went to other worlds before. I can't read a thing." He frowned, rubbing his chin.

heehee ghosties. Sure <3

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Sora frowned, picking up a book by its corner and letting it dangle from his fingers before dropping it into his other hand. It opened to a random page but he still couldn't seem to read it. He sighed, placing it back on the shelf and glancing over at him, "I guess...but it doesn't seem like there's a lot of helpful people around."

He started to step back but paused, a tingle rolling down his spine. Someone was watching.

He held his hand out, the glow swirling around, his Keyblade appearing a second later, the weight familiar and comfortable in his hand. There probably wasn't anything to worry about...but this world was dangerous in a whole different way.

"Do you feel that?"

-tickles~-

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora hesitated, stepping forward slowly and glancing around. He let out the breath he'd been holding, a small cloud forming before his mouth. He blinked. He certainly didn't feel cold.

Was it his imagination or did he hear heavy breathing. Something tickled across the back of his neck and he swatted at it like a bug. This was freaking him out.

"Yeah, let's go." He turned, stepping away quickly and heading for the door, still clutching his Keyblade. He glanced at his hand. It must have just been a bug or his nerves. Right?

He glanced back over his shoulder, a dark shadow moving quickly out of the corner of his eye. He tried to look but there wasn't anything there. "Did you see something? Like a person?"

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora looked around, laughing nervously. It sounded hollow in his throat and he quickly wished he hadn't laughed at all. He couldn't see anything now but there was the sound of heavy breathing--was it his?

"We should go, right? Yeah, let's go." He leaned against the door but it wouldn't budge. "What?" His Keyblade disappeared and he put both hands on the door, using all his weight to push, "It won't open--" He grabbed the handle, propping his foot up against the wall and pulling hard on the door. His grip slipped and he fell back.

He sighed, sitting up, "We're not getting through there." Then he heard it. A distant groan that turned his blood to ice. He spun around, jumping up to his feet, pressing his back to the door.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora tried to shake off the smell, holding out his hand and summoning his Keyblade again. He turned to Yuuta to make sure he was okay, "Come on, there's gotta be a back way out of here--or a window we can climb through."

He took a hesitant breath and stepped back towards the books, looking around slowly, jumping a little when he bumped into one of the bookcases. If Riku were here, he'd probably jump out from behind a case and scare him. He took another breath and looked around for another door.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora shook his head. He didn't really want to think about there being more than one ghost. His Keyblade was good for fighting people and Heartless but he didn't know how they would fare against a ghost--let alone two. "If you see anything, yell."

He stepped towards the far side of the room, starting to bang against the wall and pausing. Tifa had done the same thing in Hallow Bastion, looking for that secret room. It hadn't worked then, why would it work here?

He sighed, turning away. He saw something move through the shadows in between the bookcase, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. Fighting in these tight corners would be tough, it wasn't as wide as the Library in the Castle and the cases didn't seem sturdy enough to handle a hit. If he had to fight, he'd have to be careful.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sorry." He rubbed the back of his head, frowning and looking around. "I don't see a window or anything but there's gotta be a back door."

He paused, blinking down at his Keyblade, "Wait." Why didn't he think of it before? If the door had been locked, he could use the Keyblade.

He hurried back to the doors, feeling an uncomfortable chill behind him. He tried his best to ignore it, holding his Keyblade in front of him and concentrating. A beam of light shot from the tip and hit the doors. A click sounding a moment later. "Heh." He ran over, testing the door.

It still wouldn't budge. He let out a soft roar of frustration. "Why didn't it work? It always works."

He walked back to Yuuta, frowning, "Is a ghost doing this?"

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-12-01 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
He hurried over to him, glancing over his shoulder. It felt like he was being watched, the hairs on his neck still standing up. He rubbed the back of his neck, really feeling uncomfortable. "Hey, do you think they're angry? The ghosts? They had to be the ones that kept the door shut." He glanced down at his Keyblade before shaking his head.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-12-02 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora folded his arms across his chest, listening to Yuuta and nodding absently. Spirits sounded a little like Heartless...but it probably wasn't exactly the same.

"Ah, sure." He helped tug open the door, stumbling back a little and coughing as dust rose up around them. He leaned forward, peering in. It was dark. Really dark. "Where do you think it goes?"

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-12-04 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sora scratched his cheek, patting down his many pockets. "I don't have anything like that but...if there's something I can light up, I can use some magic."

He crouched down, looking around on the floor for something he could set fire to without...burning the whole place down. He tore the lid off one of the boxes, propping it up against the wall before pointing his Keyblade at it. He shot a fire spell at it and it lit up, spreading light around the room.

He grinned, "That should be okay for now."

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-12-12 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Sora reached in, tossing whatever books he could get his hands on over his shoulder carelessly. He would fix them up if he ever had to come back, but he really didn't want to.

He tugged on one of the boxes, grunting and pulling it back, "Are you sure there's a door here...?" As he said that he noticed a wooden door in the back and he let out a sigh of relief. "There it is."
