when there's something strange in the neighborhood
Characters: Yuuta, Sora, open
When: The Apartments/Library
Where: September 28
Rating: G-T
Summary: Yuuta wants to find out more about this place, and where else to go but a library? Of course, he also wants to see if there really are any ghosts about (and rule out the possibility that this is all some crazy dream/hallucination).
Yuuta made sure that his pocket knife was an easy reach for him, not sure what to expect from anyone or thing out here. In this ruined place, the people he was speaking to on the network might be little more than people who were thinking of using him to support themselves somehow. He didn't rule out kidnapping and human selling as a possibility.
Worse had happened in previous wars.
But, if he wanted to find any information or see if there really were spirits about (and get that chill off his back) he had to start somewhere. So he stood outside the main doorway of the apartments that strange girl had sent him to, waiting for... dammit he didn't ask for the person's name.

He rushed out the door, taking the stairs two at a time until he reached the entryway, almost crashing into the older teen waiting there. He stooped for a moment to catch his breath, looking up at him and grinning, rubbing the back of his head. "You weren't waiting long, were you?" He paused, "Oh," He held out his hand, "I'm Sora."

He hadn't really, or if he had, he was too busy observing the surroundings and trying to figure out the time and place he was currently in based on architecture (or what was left of it) alone. So far, no luck what so ever.
Looking around aimlessly a bit, he paused. "You do know where the library is, right? I'd like to not get lost the first time going there... or have to run into something dangerous."
no subject
He grinned, folding his hands behind his head, "It'll be alright even if we run into trouble. I can fight."
no subject
Though, the roads were a bit easier and the only obstacle was crossing streets and not bumping into people.
"Good thing you can; I wouldn't depend on my abilities in a serious situation."
no subject
He rubbed the back of his head, "If we see something dangerous, run and I'll hold it off. But we should probably start heading over there now."
no subject
"Does anyone know anything about this place? Like what happened to the people, or if there are any nearby cities that aren't destroyed like this?"
no subject
He shrugged, folding his hands behind his head and looking up, "Dunno. That Sasuke guy knows a lot, but he's not that talkative." He tilted his head, "There's that little girl too, the one who gave us our rooms but she's not gonna tell us anything."
no subject
He recalled speaking to Sasuke a bit on the network; talkative was pretty much correct. As for that girl... he still disliked the fact that he was called a toy.
no subject
He frowned a little, "The little girl, she's dangerous." He glanced at him, "She...she was eating bodies and she didn't care that we saw her. I couldn't stop her. ...She said she has a Master."

He rubbed the back of his head, "Jikininki?" He'd never heard that before but it didn't sound like something he wanted to deal with. He shrugged, "I dunno about that. Everything that's happened so far has been minor. No one's really been hurt yet." He started to walk down the path again.
sorry for being late!
<3 hee it's fine
He tried to grin, "I think if there's anything like that here, it'd be more afraid of us, once it knows we can fight." He tilted his head, glancing around. He blinked, pointing to a strange building up ahead, "I think that might be it."
:)
Looking up at the library, he tried to not hold his breath.
They'd just have to see what it held.
no subject
He burst through the doors, holding his arms up and grinning. His "victory" was met with stagnant silence, a creepy feeling rolling down his spine. He shifted, turning around and poking his head out, "It's quiet in here."
no subject
Dammit, that's immature.
Catching his breath as he got to the doors, he glared. "What if there was a spirit there? You can't just run around and make noise! That will attract them!"
Carefully, he looked around and saw that this place was mostly dusty... and he had no clue as to what language these books would hold. Hopefully, there would be some English.
no subject
He stretched a bit, "Guess we might as well look around then." He walked over to the nearest shelf, squinting one eye. He couldn't make heads or tales of any of it.
He huffed a little, ruffling his hair, "This is...why don't these things have some sort of translator?" He grumbled, uselessly brandishing his PDA at the books.
no subject
Taking the suggestion to look around at least, Yuuta did that. From the spines along the books, everything was in Cyrillic. He only knew some characters, but nothing to go very far on.
"They don't have translators?" he asked, quirking an eyebrow. "That is surprising."
And something he would have to look into, if not correct.
no subject
He sighed to himself, hanging his head slightly before reaching out at random and picking a book off the shelf, flipping it open to a page and staring down. "Argh, I don't understand any of this. There has to be something in a different language." He was half-tempted to throw the book across the room but he calmly set it back in place, turning quickly and walking along the aisles.
no subject
There had to be something.
"Do you just know English, or something else?" he asked Sora. If he knew another language, then things might go easier. Most languages were related to one another somehow.
no subject
Now, everything looked foreign and he was getting frustrated. Leon could probably read it, but he wasn't here either. He waved his hand, "I don't get it, it's not like when I went to other worlds before. I can't read a thing." He frowned, rubbing his chin.
Sorry for being late & wanna do a ghost attack? 8D
To be honest, he wanted to get out of this place and to somewhere relatively safe. This place was starting to give him a funny feeling.
heehee ghosties. Sure <3
He started to step back but paused, a tingle rolling down his spine. Someone was watching.
He held his hand out, the glow swirling around, his Keyblade appearing a second later, the weight familiar and comfortable in his hand. There probably wasn't anything to worry about...but this world was dangerous in a whole different way.
"Do you feel that?"
SORRY FOR BEING LATE
"Yes," he replied though, focusing on the odd feeling that they were being watched. It was the same feeling he got whenever a spirit of any sort was near by. Grabbing a few books, he moved towards the doors. "Let's get out of here... I think something is coming."
-tickles~-
Was it his imagination or did he hear heavy breathing. Something tickled across the back of his neck and he swatted at it like a bug. This was freaking him out.
"Yeah, let's go." He turned, stepping away quickly and heading for the door, still clutching his Keyblade. He glanced at his hand. It must have just been a bug or his nerves. Right?
He glanced back over his shoulder, a dark shadow moving quickly out of the corner of his eye. He tried to look but there wasn't anything there. "Did you see something? Like a person?"
Re: -tickles~-
"Yes, I did," he admitted anyways.
He didn't like this. He couldn't feel if the spirit had any intentions towards them... or if it did, what they were.
no subject
"We should go, right? Yeah, let's go." He leaned against the door but it wouldn't budge. "What?" His Keyblade disappeared and he put both hands on the door, using all his weight to push, "It won't open--" He grabbed the handle, propping his foot up against the wall and pulling hard on the door. His grip slipped and he fell back.
He sighed, sitting up, "We're not getting through there." Then he heard it. A distant groan that turned his blood to ice. He spun around, jumping up to his feet, pressing his back to the door.
no subject
"K-Kami... sama..." he whispered, quickly praying for anything to give them a break, or a chance to get out of here alive and in one piece.
no subject
He took a hesitant breath and stepped back towards the books, looking around slowly, jumping a little when he bumped into one of the bookcases. If Riku were here, he'd probably jump out from behind a case and scare him. He took another breath and looked around for another door.
no subject
That was something his grandmother taught him. Ghosts didn't attach themselves to one or two places every day. There had to be a reason, and if a site was good for one, who was to say it wouldn't be good enough for another?
no subject
He stepped towards the far side of the room, starting to bang against the wall and pausing. Tifa had done the same thing in Hallow Bastion, looking for that secret room. It hadn't worked then, why would it work here?
He sighed, turning away. He saw something move through the shadows in between the bookcase, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end. Fighting in these tight corners would be tough, it wasn't as wide as the Library in the Castle and the cases didn't seem sturdy enough to handle a hit. If he had to fight, he'd have to be careful.
no subject
Yuuta shook his head. There needed to be a class for ghosts and mythology in school, if not to hold onto part of their culture, but just in case something like this happened. Science and logic be damned, some things could not be explained no matter how much they wanted it to be!
no subject
He paused, blinking down at his Keyblade, "Wait." Why didn't he think of it before? If the door had been locked, he could use the Keyblade.
He hurried back to the doors, feeling an uncomfortable chill behind him. He tried his best to ignore it, holding his Keyblade in front of him and concentrating. A beam of light shot from the tip and hit the doors. A click sounding a moment later. "Heh." He ran over, testing the door.
It still wouldn't budge. He let out a soft roar of frustration. "Why didn't it work? It always works."
He walked back to Yuuta, frowning, "Is a ghost doing this?"
no subject
Thinking about how libraries were usually set up, he motioned to Sora to follow him behind the check out counter. There would have to be a door, and thus, a break room, and thus, an emergency exit. Now they just had to find it in all of the mess.
"There should be a door over here leading to other parts of the building. We can find an exit that way. Maybe whatever you tried to do there would work on others."

Pushing aside some turned over boxes and dusty tomes, he found a doorknob. "Help me open this?" he asked, tugging on it and rattling it some to make sure it was unlocked.
no subject
"Ah, sure." He helped tug open the door, stumbling back a little and coughing as dust rose up around them. He leaned forward, peering in. It was dark. Really dark. "Where do you think it goes?"
no subject
Peering into it, he tried to make out any shapes or anything... But his eyesight was bad to begin with.
"Do you have a match or anything?"
no subject
He crouched down, looking around on the floor for something he could set fire to without...burning the whole place down. He tore the lid off one of the boxes, propping it up against the wall before pointing his Keyblade at it. He shot a fire spell at it and it lit up, spreading light around the room.
He grinned, "That should be okay for now."
no subject
"...let's get some of these boxes out of the way. A door should be here," he said, feeling a chill run down his back. Something was coming, again.
no subject
He tugged on one of the boxes, grunting and pulling it back, "Are you sure there's a door here...?" As he said that he noticed a wooden door in the back and he let out a sigh of relief. "There it is."
I AM SO SORRY THIS IS LATE D;
"Do you think you could try... whatever that is?" he asked, waving at Sora's keyblade.
