Characters: Zombies AND YOU!
When: November 1st - 7th
Where: Nesreca
Rating: R
Summary: They're baaaaack~ And they're not happy. At all. Prepare to defend yourselves or be eaten.

Everyone had been murdered. Men. Women. Children. Elderly. There was no bias. Their bodies were given burial, but then those people, too, were slain. They were left to rot. Souls were left behind, clung to what they could - unfinished business that was going to see its end, where they died, their home, anything.

And they were content, vaguely, because their resting place - despite the violent way they went - was eventually left undisturbed. Years, decades passed. They slept.

But then, people started showing up. Haunting them - screaming at them - didn't do anything. Overrunning Nesreca with each of the dead, as ghosts, didn't work. Now...what would? But wait. They were... They were given life, once more. As temporary as it may be, life was life. They could breath, they could move, they could... well, talking wasn't part of the deal.

Undead they may be, but dammit they were back. And they will make these people pay.

eee Zombies~! :D

He'd sensed something strange for a while now, ever since that body had appeared in his room. Something was wrong, and Riku couldn't put his finger on it. It was driving him insane, really. Making him on edge, jittery, and he knew if he met anyone in the halls or spoke to anyone over the PDA, he'd end up snapping at them. Which was why he'd steered clear of all that recently, why he'd holed himself up in a room with a dead body - covered respectfully by the sheet from his bed - until he heard the ruckus die down from the other rooms. Only then did he push himself to his feet and take up the blanket-wrapped bundle. Sure, it had started to smell, but it was nothing compared to the overwhelming stench of Darkness. The stench that had done nothing but grow as the night wore on, as day broke.

The actual carrying of the body was uneventful. He met no one in the halls - he was sure to avoid any incoming signatures of light or darkness - and managed to find a patch of relatively loose dirt before summoning his weapon (well, a chair first, he wasn't exactly concentrating all that well) and setting at the dirt.

The actual burial took nearly an hour, what with digging and burying, and he had to abandon his coat and vest halfway through, leaving him in jeans and a vest, sweating despite the cool of the day. After all, the less he had to be out and exposed, the better. The Darkness was still making him twitchy, keeping him distracted as he leaned against Souleater next to the mound of dirt, pushing up his blindfold so it lay across his forehead as he wiped and rubbed at his eyes. And it was then... that something shifted.

It was almost as if something in the very air changed, or if some sort of electrical shock had suddenly run up Riku's back. But either way, he was freezing completely and totally, his hand falling to the hilt of his weapon, fingers slowly wrapping around it as gold seeped into his eyes - an automatic defense mechanism. His breath was shallow but silent, his body barely moving even with each intake of breath. Something had happened, something was coming. He could tell that much, could smell it, sense it.

And then, not even a full thirty seconds later, he could see it.

Kanda didn't know what the fuck was going on. He had simply been exploring the city for anything useful - food, winter materials, anything really - when he first saw them. He ducked between two buildings immediately. He peeked out, and watched as a group of zombies passed by down the street.

Kanda's immediate thought was that these were not zombies, but Akuma sent by the Earl. Yet, these did not feel like Akuma at all. While there was bloodlust, it wasn't... It was just different, compared to what he felt while fighting against Akuma. Dammit, he wished Marie was here to confirm his suspicions.

Too many living. The lack of respect these beings had for his city.

Teutorix had shifted to a tangible form as he slipped behind some long haired girl. Though, on further inspection, he noted it was a male. Even better.

The disfigured man stood behind Kanda, his "breathing" gravely and strained. No need to breathe, just a habit.

Kanda's eyes widened before he immediately stepped out of the alley and spun around, Mugen withdrawn and pointed at the culprit. He stopped, briefly, when he saw exactly who - or more accurately, what - it was behind him. It... looked like one of the zombies, but at the same time didn't. Hell, it didn't even give off the same kind of energy either.

"Who the hell are you?"

[identity profile] sundigen.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
A sword? So boring. Where was this boy from... The dark ages? Teutorix's good eye rolled in it's socket to get a better look at the living in front of him. Such language.

"..Get... Out... My city..." His voice was just as gravely as his breathing, shreds of skin on his cheek flapping as he spoke.

"Trust me, if I knew how to do that, I would." Kanda held the sword tight in his hand, his fingers on his free hands twitching just slightly in anticipation. He couldn't activate his Innocence just yet; he couldn't let anyone know he was an Exorcist - thank god for the cloak - in case there were Noah here.

"Answer the question, or I'll cut you."

[identity profile] sundigen.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Cannot... Hurt..." Teutorix started to fade before Kanda to prove his point that he was unable to be harmed. He was mastered this trick far better then his pet had. She was just a child though. "Master... I am."

"Tch." Kanda cast a quick glance to the zombies that he had seen pass by just moments ago before returning his attention to Teutorix.

"What's the point in all of this."

Sora was lying back on his bed, staring up at the peeling ceiling. There wasn't much else to do in this place, especially since it'd been getting colder lately.

Then he heard something. Something moving outside. He scrambled onto his knees, peering out the window and his eyes widened. His heart stopped in his chest, the blood draining from his face. First ghosts and now...he didn't know what to call them.

The sane thing to do would be just to stay inside and wait it out. But where's the fun in that? He grabbed his keychains from the windowsill and bolted out the door, almost forgetting to slam it shut behind him.

He threw up his hood before he reached the exit, slowly opening the door and peering around.

<3 heehee it's okay <3

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-05 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"What are they?!" Sora's eyes widened for a moment but he threw out his hand, summoning his Keyblade and shifting, rubble grinding against rubble under his feet. He couldn't let them get inside, not everyone could fight, right?

He ran forward, tossing his Keyblade at the nearest one, catching it as it swung back around. They definitely weren't Heartless. Did he still have his magic? One way to find out.

He held his Keyblade in front of him, "Fire!" A small crimson ball appeared at the tip, shooting into the middle of the crowd. Sora moved to the side, making sure they were focused on him before running. There were too many to fight here. He had to lead them away.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-07 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
That just made things worse. At least before, they were just regular angry man-eating zombies. Now he'd gone and set them on fire. He scrambled away, slowing down once he was well away from the apartments. He turned around quickly, extending his Keyblade again, "Freeze!" A jet of blue rocketed out of the tip of the blade, exploding into shards of ice as it hit the burning zombies.

He couldn't keep using magic. There were too many to fight that way, and it didn't seem like his magic did must to stop them anyway. If Donald were here... He shook his head. As far as he knew, he was on his own.

Taking a step back, he switched out his Oathkeeper chain with his Ultima chain. "Let's go!" He dropped down, charging forward and attacked the ones at the front of the mob.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-08 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
Sora jumped back out of the way as they reached for him. He was fast. He always was fast, Riku was the only one that could ever beat him and that was just barely.

He ducked down, launching himself at the zombies, striking at their legs. He jumped back again before they could fall on top of him. If they thought they were going to wear him out, it'd take more than this. He'd faced a thousand Heartless at once. He could handle this. He hoped.

He moved back again, lifting his Keyblade into the air, "Thunder!" Bolts of lightning sparked out of the blade, shooting down at the zombies. They were trying to close in on him...and since he ran away from the apartments, it wasn't like anyone was going to know he was out. Way to go, Sora.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-09 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Craaap! Why won't you go down!?" He tried to remember the movies he had watched with Tidus about zombies but being around the real thing, everything he watched just flew out.

They were getting too close and not going down quickly enough. He turned around quickly, running again. There wasn't really anywhere to go, he just needed to gain some ground. He skidded to a halt, turning around and tossing his Keyblade, sending it spinning at the zombies again, knocking one at the neck. It went flying through, swinging back around as he called it back.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-10 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
This was getting ridiculous. Not even taking off their heads had done anything to stop them. It just made things worse. He was going to have nightmares for sure now. "Craaaap!" He yelled again. He was running out of ideas, other than hacking them up into pieces until they couldn't move but that would take forever. He was going to run out of energy before they did. He needed help.

There wasn't anyone around that he could see and he didn't want to lead them back to the apartments. But at least if they were headless, they couldn't be able to see or hear people, right? So how did they know where he was?

He wasn't going to go down without a fight anyway.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-13 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Were they really not going to stop? There had to be a way to end it. They couldn't keep going on forever, could they? He took a step back. They probably could but he certainly couldn't.

The headless ones still came at him. Even without eyes or ears, they still knew where he was. "What do you want!?"

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-15 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
A chill ran down his spine. He was in trouble. He knew that for sure. This wasn't like fighting the Heartless at all. They just refused to go down without expending a lot of energy and there way too many to take them out one by one without passing out before they were all gone. What else could he do? He had to think. But not here. Certainly not here.

He grasped his Keyblade in both hands, gritting his teeth and raising it up, "Gravity!" A blackish-purple orb appeared around the nearest group, tightening around them and pressing them down hard into the ground. He turned on his heel, running through the broken town again, stumbling and tripping over junk lying about in the street. He picked himself up quickly, running more. He just needed time to figure out a plan.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-24 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Sora ran, trying to distance himself from the zombies while still keeping them in sight. He didn't know where to go. The apartments was the only safe place he could think of and he didn't want to bring them back there.

He wanted to ruffle his hair out of frustration. He couldn't think of anything. Cutting off their heads couldn't stop them, freezing them turning them into zombie-sicles (nasty), and setting them on fire just make things worse. He didn't have a whole arsenal of magic that he could just keep throwing new things at them. He'd run out of ideas.

Where they any other zombies in town? How could there be more? How many people died...? Why did they want them out? It's just like they asked to be here in the first place. But he certainly wasn't going to lie down and die for them.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
The sounds sent terrible chills down his spine and he stumbled, using his Keyblade to keep from tripping on his face. The zombies seemed to be able to talk...some. But all they wanted was to...kill him? Maybe they wanted him to...kill them? But they were already dead. He shook his head quickly. If he thought about it too hard his brain was going to pop.

He tried to search his brain for zombie knowledge again. He'd cut off their heads but they still moved. Wasn't that how the people in movies always stopped the zombies? Then again, this wasn't a movie. Maybe he was dreaming? But it all seemed too real to be a dream.

Maybe they couldn't cross flowing water? No...that was vampires. Or was it? Pretty sure it was vampires. Could zombies swim?

He turned, cupping his hand over his mouth, "Hey! Can you swim!?"

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Sora stopped, taking a step back and watching them. It was cold out of the water, it'd be worse in it but there wasn't anything else he could thing of at this point. They'd just keep going, they could probably outlast him. They weren't anything like monsters he'd faced in the past. But he hadn't been alone then.

Maybe he could think of something on the way to the river. He lifted his Keyblade into the air, "Thunder!" As bolts shot out at the zombies, he turned, running again, making his way towards the river. He was still wearing the magical clothes from the fairies, maybe it would change his body like before.

Probably not.

He ran faster, trying to put as much distance between then while still keeping the zombies in sight. He reached the edge of the river and banished his Keyblade, stepping up to the sore and hesitating again. "Think, Sora, think. Argh! I can't think of anything!" He looked back over his shoulder to see how close the zombies were.

[identity profile] crowned-sky.livejournal.com 2010-12-01 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Sora huffed, plopping down on the shore to think, folding his arms across his chest. Maybe he could blow them up. He would need a bomb. Maybe if he tried to freeze more of them and...

He blinked, looking up. Would that work? They'd shatter right? They had to shatter. It wouldn't kill him to try, besides, the other option was jumping into the river and that wasn't appealing. He fumbled in his pocket for his Ether, just to make sure it was there. "Let's go."

He ran forward, summoning his Keyblade and aiming for the zombies and firing off a couple of Blizzard spells before throwing his Keyblade at them.

[identity profile] metalsinger.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"......Fuck," Nathan let out, looking at the swarming mass of zombies that were all over the streets. "Seriously?"

Looking out the window by peeping over the windowsill, he wondered if it would be a good idea to get the hell out of dodge and find some place that wasn't riddles with vulnerabilities. Really, this place was not a good place to be during a zombie attack. He had yet to deal with zombies yet back home, but hey. It could happen.

He also played a lot of video games. A lot.

[identity profile] metalsinger.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Zombies, zombies, zombies. What do to with them?

Well, Nathan only considered one possibility: finding whatever heavy, blunt object he could find and start smacking some undead heads in.

So, heading outside, armed with something like a two-by-four (but larger and thicker), he grinned.

"HEY. DEAD DUDES."

After all, what could happen?

[identity profile] metalsinger.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Nathan gulped. Uh-oh, that was a boatload of zombies.

Oh well, more to kill then. Aiming for the one closest to him, he whacked it along side its head and grinned when it bounced down the street like a ball. He did the same for the one that was right after that to give him some time to make some distance, which he did, jumping onto a pile of supposedly stable debris.

[identity profile] metalsinger.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Awesome," he exclaimed, grinning with the grin only someone who really didn't care about his personal safety or the consequences of his actions could. Smacking another one that got to close right on the legs, he hoped that would stop them. Couldn't really walk if the said legs didn't function, now could you?

Jumping the debris piles, he wondered how many there would be and for how long they'd follow. He dealt with a Norwegian lake troll, so how hard could zombies who didn't follow the head rule be?

[identity profile] meitori.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yuuta was quietly walking along one of the streets from the library to his apartment when he heard moaning. His mind instantly went to one of the many horror movies he had a habit of watching during October (thank you, American influence), but he shook it off. There was no way.

But then he saw movement. Slow, methodical movement heading towards him.

There's no way!

[identity profile] meitori.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Shit!" he yelled, running in a direction from the apartments. He didn't want to lead them to anyone else who happened to be there; that would cause unnecessary bloodshed and everything else.

Dropping the books, and figuring he could find them again later, he tried to spot something in the debris as he jumped over piles and ducked under things. There had to be something he could use!

[identity profile] meitori.livejournal.com 2010-11-30 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Dammit, he was not going to be defenseless. Grabbing onto a piece of wood and pulling, he found that it was probably once a board to a fence or something similar. It would work. Taking a whack at the nearest zombie, he quickly figured that it wasn't the best weapon to use given how it broke in half and only made one zombie fall.

Even then, it still kind of crawled towards him.

Climbing onto a pile of debris, he reached for a window of a building it was sitting next to. That might have something, if not some more defense!

[identity profile] meitori.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Fuck!" he yelled. Making a jump, he kicked at a box and watched the debris pile for a second before pulling himself into the office building and snapping the window shut. If he wanted to get out of here and not get caught between zombies from all sides, he had to think smart and fast.

Obviously, finding an exit where they weren't swarming was the only option. Going up would just lead to an early end at being bitten or having to jump off.
