Spock paused a moment to type a message to his captain, and was relieved that he got a response. Excusing himself for a moment, he conversed quickly.

"It seems that my Captain has had a minor run in with one of the beings," he said, putting his communicator away. "He is near a row of stores, probably damaged. Have you seen anything like it before?"
